  • Too Few Calories, but I'm not hungry Day 5

    Today is my 5th day of induction. This morning for breakfast i had a mock danish and water. Then I went to church. After church, all of my friends wanted to go to Stone Cold Creamery but i went home instead. (My biggest temptation so far, if you have ever had Cold Stone Creamery then you know what i mean.) Anyway I came home, cut up some cucumbers, made some steak and broccoli. I had a bottle of water and i was fine. Then i had chicken breasts with peppers for dinner with some Fruit20. I tried heavy cream, cream cheese and a pack of splenda beaten together.it was pretty good the first time i had it but today i only ate a few spoonfuls then threw the rest away. At the end of the day my Fitday totals were 711 calories 64% Fat 30% Protein 6% Carbs. When I just looked at it i couldnt believe it. My first thought was that i missed something but I know i didnt. I keep a paper in my pocket where i write down everything. I'm not hungry. It's midnight. I don't feel like eating. I just want to go to sleep but I know that if i get too few calories my body will think that I'm starving it and i dont want that to happen. What should I do???????????

    I have a similar problem where I find it hard to eat enough calories!
    I usually add some mayo where I can and also add butter to my veg...I would fry my steak in butter too...anything to get those calories up a bit, without actually adding more food and it also keeps the fat % up!

      We all get days where we arent hungry - often followed by some days when we just cant stop eating!! So listen to your body and if you are not hungry dont force yourself to eat unless it has been 6 hours since you last ate. In that case have a small protein/fat/carbs snack just to keep your metablism going.

      If you have several days of not eating much then perhaps look at your menus and choose nutrition-dense foods to make sure you are giving your body as much goodness as you can for the small quantity you feel like eating. So not lettuce but something like peppers or broccolli which have more 'punch' nutritionally speaking, and no 'empty' snacks like pork rinds.
