    Re: Losing Motivation...

    Good for you, Snuggles
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Check out our Low Carb Recipes website and add to it!!

      Re: Losing Motivation...

when I started atkins I wasn't sure how I would do but I promised myself I would give it TWO months before deciding it was or was not worth it. I didn't weigh in the first 6 weeks just because I didn't want to be discouraged! After 6 weeks I had lost 14 pounds, which it took me exactly a year to gain...I just hope I can maintain that level! In a year I would have lost 121 lbs!! which I did not gain in a year. It took a lifetime of bad everything to get to where I am.
This place is great. Everyone is supportive, and the food really is good, just learn to expand your food horizons a bit. Think outside the box, or outside the bread as the case maybe.
As for the induction flu...I kept reading it lasted a few days, mine went on for almost 10 days...OMG..I felt like POO!! but then..one day I woke up and it wasn't a chore to get out of bed and my head wasn't throbbing!!
It will get better!! I promise.
      Good luck!

I drink about 100 oz of water. I get the plastic venti cups from starbucks, like when you get an iced tea, and leave those everywhere filled with water (on my desk, next to my bed, in the car) I drink at least 4-5 of those a day if not MORE. I'm a water-a-holic because I haven't been a soda drinker since i was 13 (that was almost 10 years ago)

            Re: Losing Motivation...

Hey Snuggles, I hope you are hanging in there and that your motivation is up and running! I certainly understand where you are coming from since I have been losing slower than frozen molasses for the past many weeks. HOWEVER, you are on your way to a lifetime of better health--and *definite* weight loss, even if it is slow and steady. This w.o.e. WORKS, and it just takes time for some of us slower losers.

I read a bunch of peoples' posts about how MUCH they were losing in such a short time; while I was really happy for them, I felt really bummed out about my slow pace . But I made up my mind not to turn back because giving up means there will be no joy or hope ahead in life---no energy, no smaller sizes, no self-respect, no achievement. And that is a whole lot more frightening to me than giving up some carbs!!!!! This WILL WILL WILL work if you just stay on track. And it is soooooo much more enjoyable and real than the low fat cardboard food diets out there. So hang in there---us turtles have to stick together!!!
