    Re: Snacks during induction?

My favorite snack right now: I mash some ricotta cheese with garlic and italian spices, salt, etc and spread it on some zucchini, sliced lengthwise. Then I pop it under the broiler. Yummy.

    Jicama's good too.

I really did like it! It's got a sweet taste to it and it really does satisfy that need for some crunch. I'll definitely be buying it more often!

I didn't cook it - it seems like something that is going to be better raw.

Now about jicama, isn't it high in carbs for induction?

              Bump for the question. Thanks.

Nope. Jicama is perfectly legal. Atkins is "low carb" not "no carb": eating as close to 0 carbs a day doesn't 'speed' your weight loss, 'kick start' ketosis, or any of the other myths associated with it. Dr. Atkins picked the magic number 20 because that's the level of carbs when the vast majority of people can get into ketosis. But we, typically, are making ketones when our carb level is less than 100 grams daily.

My favorite snack now is sugar free bread and butter pickles. They are Mt Olive brand made with splenda.

Not bread... it's pickles that are called bread and butter pickles. They are sweet.

I never understood that though "bread and butter" pickles. When I used to eat bread and butter, I never put pickles on it.

These are the best things I've ever tried!!! I made them tonight and I think they taste like chocolate cheesecake. My husband said is kinda is like chocolate ice cream when you put it in the freezer. Thanks for this!!!!!!

You could make a low carb chocolate moose the same way.

Just take an egg, cream of tartar, whipping cream.... and the chocolate.. and some splenda.

The problem is they're FAR too addicted or me and I end up eating too much :-/

These snacks are mouth-watering and my fear is that I'll eat the whole enchillada (rather the cheesecake or mousse or whatever snack there is)

I haven't seen much on "portions" so any thoughts?
