Re: How we doing? Checking in w/ fellow induction folks

Perrier..lemon or lime has zero calories and no aspartame..last i checked.

And water can give u heartburn? Never knew that! Maybe thats why my heartburn has been so bad lately..first time ive been drinkin a lot of water. Ive been sitting here miserable with this heartburn...and ive had ten cups of water today.

OK i just googled it. Apparently for some people they shouldnt drink water within an hour of eating...because it dilutes the stomach acid and doesnt let food digest properly. Does that make sense?
Another suggested adding a couple of tsps of lemon of vinegar to the water. If it goes away means u didnt have enough acid in your stomach..if it gets worse..means u have too much and need medication. hmm..i dunno..worth trying.

Re: How we doing? Checking in w/ fellow induction folks

One week in for me... and feeling pretty good but I am still having strange cravings. I crave things I don't even particularly like; I have always preferred salty snacks to sweet ones but while on induction I keep fantasizing about candy bars and ice cream.

I WISH my problem was that I couldn't eat as many vegetables as I wanted to. It takes a real effort for me to snack on veggies; I'm kind of grinning and bearing it right now.

I'm going to check out the recipe thread I keep hearing about so I don't get bored with the allowed foods.

And I'm working up the nerve to take a full-body "before" picture. Weight-wise I don't have too far to go to get back in the "normal" range but my fat percentage/distribution tells a much unhealthier story. I'm going to track measurements weekly and see if I can eventually get my waist back!

Thank you everyone for posting and sharing; I would have quit 4 days in (I know, pathetic!) if it hadn't been for this board!

Thanks, indymom, for the lookup. Water has always given me heartburn since I had my son. I've been trying to avoid taking another prescription because I take so many already, but it may be necessary for me to get as much water as I need. I'll try the lemon and see if that works.

I will probably keep looking for a sparkling water with splenda, though.
