  • Okay Foods?

    I wanted to try and make some recipes today, but in many of the 'induction friendly' recipes I read, the ingredients are not all strictly mentioned in the DANDR book. How do I know which are okay and which are not?

    Some examples of ingredients in 'induction friendly' recipes that I wasn't sure about:
    Baking Powder
    Flax Meal
    Cinnamon
    Poultry Seasoning
    Green Beans?
    Garlic Powder

    Sorry I am so new at this, but I don't want to mess up induction! I would like to know which of those ARE acceptable and if they are, what types of items are allowed even though they aren't directly stated so in the book? Is Linda's site correct on ALL of the induction friendly recipes, as in, are they all truly induction friendly?

    It's not a problem! I commend you for asking first and eating later!

    Baking powder--legal
    flax meal--legal for constipation issues. If you are "regular" and having no problems with BMs, save this until Rung 3 (nuts and seeds) of OWL
    cinnamon, garlic powder, poultry seasoning--these are legal if they have no added sugars. Spices and herbs are allowed on induction.
    green beans--legal (they're listed as "string beans" in the "other" section of acceptable veggies)

        Yup, sour cream is an "other" category food, along with olives, avocado, heavy cream, etc. You're limited to 2 tbsp. per day I believe (double-check in DANDR) and make sure you count the carbs for it in your daily totals.
