6th day: only 2 lbs lost. need advice.

  • 6th day: only 2 lbs lost. need advice.

    I'm on my 6th day & only 2 lbs lost Where is this great drop I keep reading about. I have not cheated. I ate one KFC breast with the breaded skin not realizing that it was breaded -- duh. But that was 3 days ago. I've had NO: sugar (not even Splenda), I drink alot of water. I think maybe that TOM will be here next week. I have not had any headaches, or feelt weak or ill or any serious sugar cravings...am I doing something wrong? I actually feel pretty good. However, when I weighed this morning it showed 179 but by the end of the day it goes to 182. I started at 184 six days ago. But I "feel" thinner -- is that weird? No, I didnt' measure at first but I took measurements yesterday.

    The REVIEW MY MENU forum can be one of the most useful forums here on ADBB, whether you're new to Atkins or an old hand at it! It always helps to have a second set of eyes look over what you are or are not eating!

    When posting in this forum, it is IMPORTANT that your menu include food measurements (tablespoon, cups, ounces) of all foods. We can't accurately review "some cheese" but we can be accurate if we read "2 ounces of cheddar cheese".

    For a truly accurate review, write down EVERY food you put in your mouth for 24 hours, including measurements. Also, write down all Beverages - water or otherwise, including measurements. Be sure and include oils foods were cooked in, as well as spices and condiments.

      First, stop weighing several times a day. Most people weigh first thing in the morning after going to the bathroom. If you weigh at the end of the day, the weight could fluctuate due to water retention, food intake and exercise. There are some on this board who will tell you to avoid weighing until after the 2 week induction is complete.

      Next, Dr. Atkins states that the median weight loss from doing 2 weeks of induction is 6 lbs for females. If you take your origial morning weight of 179, that means you have already lost 5 lbs!!! You have lost more in 6 days, than some lose in the entire 2 weeks!

      So keep up the great work! The weight is coming off!

        I didnt know there was a review my menu forum. Your right, Kisstuck", I'm gonna stop weighing several times a day and just do it 1x week (okay maybe twice). Thanks for the replies & the encouragement, you guys ROCK!!

          Advice: DO NOT GET DISCOURAGED.

          Go for the 14 days.

          You WILL see the results.

          It WILL happen.


          Look at some of the pics on this forum for motivation.

          Don't give up...even though it's very tough for you right now.
