Re: Are these noodles okay for induction??

I ordered these a while back when someone else posted on here. They took me a while to get use to. Kind of like eating air But after I got use to them they are great. I just ordered some more yesterday. They usually don't take long to get here. I just rinsed off the noodles for a minute or 2 and the fish smell went away. The website has a forum that has a bunch of recipes. You might want to check that out.

Guys SERIOUSLY - TOFU IS INDUCTION LEGAL IT IS LEGAL IT IS LEGAL IT IS LEGAL. Tofu is what Dr. Atkins classifies as SOY CHEESE. and... it's LEGAL so you can eat the shirataki tofu noodles, just check the back.

The fish smell is there but if you rince them for a minute it goes away and is fine.

      They are as godsend!

Oh - as we cant get them I didnt know they were made with tofu - if this is the case then they would be OK for induction, as Dot has pointed out.
But make sure you stick to the '3-4 ounces of cheese' rule as tofu counts as a cheese for induction.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

I've heard of these, and I saw them in my supermarket this weekend (which is amazing, because I live in a small mountain town).

What do you do with them? Are they better lo mein style or can you use them in Italian recipes?

ok, so it depends if they are the tofu or normal variety. Tofu ones taste better but have to be limited in quanitity. plain ones can be eaten all day because they are 100% fiber. They are made from the root of a japanese yam plant which is not like a western yam. The entire thing is fiber. non digestible so eat as much as you want.

Take them out of the packet and drain the water. They will smell TERRIBLE, like fish. Run cold water on them for a minute and they smell fine. The smell is a pickling agent used to keep the fresh. It has no carbs.

Once rinsed, cut them and break them up as they are too long. Then either boil them like spaghetti or fry them with garlic and soy sauce or make a bake! A lot of people cut them up and mix them with cream cheese and cheddar and broccolli and bacon then cover in grated cheese and bake for an AWESOME cheese bake.

            I *heart* Shirataki.
