I started on Sunday and I am proud of myself. I have stuck to it. I am having a problem with snacks. I eat cheese, meat, pork rinds for snacks but what else can i have? I am looking for something quick. I don't want to make a meal, just have a quick nibble. Any suggestions.

    Thanks in advance

I love devilled eggs as a snack. I make up about 6 or so at a time a keep in the fridge. Also celery with a little cream cheese is good too.

Excellent suggestions. I will get celery and cream cheese tonight. I will make sure I plan better this week for snacks. I was so concerned with dinners and forgot the snacking. I will make sure I have extra cucumber around for snacking.

        Thanks for the help.

Are you using these snacks in place of a proper meal or are you using them in addition to a proper meal?

If you are using them in place of a proper meal, then you can make your "snacks" smaller portions of a regular meal. For example, if a regular meal is 4 chicken wings, cucumber spears and dressing, you can break it into 2 snacks: chicken wings for one snack and cucumber spears and dressing for the other.

If you are using these snacks in addition to a proper meal, then make sure they are a relatively "high fat" snack---the fat will keep you satisfied between meals. And that high fat snack can be a hard boiled egg, a few slices of pepperoni, chicken salad, etc.

My staples are celery and cream cheese, hard boiled eggs, wedges of Laughing Cow cheese, pepperoni slices (I have to be careful with these because I'll eat too many) and homemade ground turkey jerky.

No, I am eating 3 proper meals a day. It is the snacking doing me in. I will have to remember to make my snacks "high fat"

                  Thanks for the help

For higher fat snack I always keep egg, tuna or chicken salad on hand. A few bites and I'm satisfied for awhile!

                        Re: snack foods

Thank you everyone for your replies. I went food shopping this weekend and got extra eggs and made deviled eggs, salami for the pizza taste, cooked up some chicken to have it on hand for a bite or two during the day, celery and cream cheese. That should hold me over.

                        Thanks again,
