  • Who's Starting Induction 10/15/07

    Hi all!

I thought I'd start a little thread for those of us starting induction tomorrow, Monday, October 15th. We can keep in touch through this thread and help support each stay on track for the whole 2 weeks-CLEAN! We can share induction meal ideas to keep it exciting, tips, tricks, ect., ect. I got the idea from another thread from a group of peeps who had started induction around the same time. I believe it was started by purplecat. They had shared recipes, links, support and encouragement! Of course this WHOLE board is for that but one of the sticky's I read said it's good to start little groups or threads for people who are starting induction at the same time. I'm really excited about this. I'll be doing some cooking tonight making hard boiled eggs, chicken salad, pork chops, tuna muffins and cutting up cheese in snack size portions ect. I also stocked up on TONS of bottle water ( I live in LA and refuse to drink the tap water!) because I'm making a mini goal for myself during induction to only drink water. Later on during OWL I will allow myself sparingly things like decaf diet soda, iced tea and coffee. I really want this induction period to be clean and drinking only water and tons of it will help flush out my system. I also cleaned the laundry off my treadmill! ROFL! So if you're like me starting induction or re-starting induction tomorrow, join in on this thread and we'll all go through this together!

    Re: Who's Starting Induction 10/15/07

I'm starting on the 15th also! Great idea for a thread. I am also gearing up for lots of water drinking and cooking a bit of meat ahead. I plan on eating pretty much the same menu for the 14 days with a few variations in dinner meats and vegetables. That always works great for me.

I am not sure what I am going to do for exercise yet. Probably walking... and trying some yoga. I need to gain some strength.

I am pretty excited for tomorrow!

:waving: Hi debi! Yeah I'm excited too! As far as meals I'm gonna try to get a little creative for week two of induction but pretty much will be basic the first week. Although I am gonna make those tuna muffins! I'm like you about what I'm doing for exercise, walking on my treadmill and some of the hiking trails around here and going back to my yoga class on Fridays! We can do this! I can't wait until our befores and afters are up here at
      Woo-hoo!

I keep reading about Tuna Muffins. I have to find this recipe. Sounds yummy!!

I figure I am going to just eat three meals. I am not much of a snacker, but I definitely don't have a handle on my portion control. I am going to post my menu on the fridge so I can see it everytime I go into the kitchen. I actually don't expect to get too hungry, so it is just a matter of planning ahead for me. I have to have the meats cooked and such so I don't just grab something handy when I am hungry. I also don't have lots of time to cook during the day, so planning ahead will be a great idea. My wonderful husband was just in cooking up some ground meat and storing it for me. Yay!!!

Hi everyone! I'm re-starting Induction on Monday too. It's my dd's 3rd birthday, and we already got the bad stuff out of the way today at her party. I've been doing lower carb/Atkins the last month, but have had a few falls off the wagon. I want to really commit to this for good this time. I'm also planning a simple week 1 induction, so I won't have to think about it too much. Then maybe I'll try some new recipes during week 2. Water, water, water is my new motto as I drink too much diet coke right now.

Glad to be here, and I'm excited to start!

Glad to have you here! I'm excited to start too! Got my menu for tomorrow already planned out.

Morning meal: 2 Scrambled eggs with 2 turkey sausage patty
Mid morning snack: 1 Ham and cheese pickle roll up
Lunch: Chicken salad stuffed celery sticks
Mid afternoon snack: Hard boiled egg
                  Dinner: Steak and Greenbeans
Evening snack (if needed): 1 tuna muffin

And my son's b-day is Friday. We're going to a theme park for his b-day so I'm gonna pack some turkey jerkey and porkrinds for me to snack on while they eat the junk. For his "cake" he wants a pumpkin pie. Maybe I can find an induction pumpkin pie that he would like too or just make it for me and buy him a regular pie.

And so tomorrow we begin! EXCITING! WE CAN DO THIS !

Darn. I just started a few days before today, so I guess I can't particpate here. But let me just offer a few words of encouragement: I've lost 4.5 lbs since starting.

Best success to all of you.

Now I have to get walking. Exercise is always the hardest part for me to be consistent with so I plan on making it a priority until it becomes a habit.

So far, so good on my day 1 induction!

Breakfast: Scrambled eggs, 2 cups of water
                          Snack: String cheese
Lunch: Romaine salad with chunks of ham and ranch dressing, 2 cups of water

For a pm snack, I'm going to have some more ham rolled up with cream cheese. I have pork rinds on hand in case I really need something crunchy.

Dinner is either going to be steak or hamburger, and I'm jonesing for some mashed cauliflower, so that will probably be the side dish.

I'm going to force myself to work out tonight. I have brand new Turbo Jam cd's that I've never even opened, and I need to get my bootay in gear! lol!

Hope everyone is doing great today. I've had some cravings, but I'm trying to stomp them out with lots of water and fat/protein! Oh, and I got some l-glutamine and have taken 500 mg before each meal. So far, so good! Here's to a successful 2 weeks for everyone!
