    Re: Can't even complete day 1- feeling down

    Maybe you could post your meals, just a idea, its up to you. The book does say we can eat liberal amounts on certain meats. I think during induction that would be ok, then once you are comfortable you can eat less on the meats. Stay strong and keep trying.

      I just wanted to pop in and give you a cyber hug or two
      {{{{{Deb}}}}}
      and add my two pennorth.

      Try to have lots of induction-legal foods and snacks prepared and available over the next week or so.

      By 'lots' I mean much morefood than you think you will ever be able to eat, so that if you find that eating a 'sensible' portion of it doesnt stop you feeling hungry or the munchies strike you will have enough Atkins ammunition to keep you eating on-plan for the whole day if necessary.

      A few days of eating only induction-legal food should start you off on the right track and before you know it you will have the other induction problem - not eating enough because you are experiencing the appetite-suppression part of being in ketosis!!
      Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
      Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

        Re: Can't even complete day 1- feeling down

        I just wanted to stop in and say that I do understand the challenges you are facing with yourself.....It is very hard to overcome our inner demons....but YOU are the only one who can do this. Nobody else is going to do it for you. I have restarted this (and many other eating plans) more times than I even care to count. I just restarted yesterday and instead of leaping into challenges here like I've done in the past, I've decided I am going to change my approach. I have to change my thinking along the way, or I'll continue to repeat the pattern I've repeated sooooo many times.

        I think the advice given so far is excellent. I add....take 'can't' out of your vocabulary, at least when it comes to staying with this WOE...replace it with 'I choose not to'....I think that's the first step in owning any issue. It might sound simple and even ineffective, but we somehow have to 'reprogram' ourselves. This is my first baby step, and I think it's going to help me. Thought I'd share with you...

        Take care and one day at a time (or as Brook said....one minute at a time) will get you where you were meant to be!
