    Re: Well well ...

Well another week has gone by and another 2 pounds down. I have now reached my first mini goal. I'm out tonight with friends which involves a 3 course meal and drinks. I've looked at the menu and I feel confident that I can make the right choices and will keep alcohol to a minimum .. I hope ...

Here's hoping I can stay good and lose another couple of pounds next week.

Shirley, are you still in induction? If yes, then please stay away from that alcohol, it is not allowed during induction.. Not even in OWL before rung5. Make sure to stick with the Acceptable Food list. Enjoy your day out though..

Too late I've already done it .. and I felt really bad the next day. I don't know how much damage I've done but I guess I will find out on Friday .. it wont happen again though. I was good with the eating but BAD with the drinking .

          Re: Well well ...

I am feeling a little disheartened with myself. I feel as though I have put weight on due to my christmas night out. Although I have been good with my eating I am feeling so tempted to cheat. My boyfriend baked a christmas cake last night and the smell just drove me to want to come off this diet. What with the feeling of putting weight back on and wanting to eat this delicious looking cake I am finding it really hard. I haven't cheated yet but I soooo want to. HELP

Shirley... think about it, is that cake worth your happiness. Eating the wrong way has put you in a position that does not make you feel good about the place you are at. Even one cheat is not worth it. To me... doing this diet the right way means that I am beating my food addictions. Each day that I have a clean day I feel so empowered. No bite of food is worth losing that! You have to make a choice here. Do you really want to lose this weight? If you do the plan speaks for itself. I have joined several exercise challenges and it has really helped me to stay focused on why I am here to begin with. You are so worth it Shirley! Hang in there... You can beat those cravings

              Re: Well well ...

Shirley, read your first post in this thread again. Remember how you felt when you wrote, how good you felt when you got on the scale and the pounds were gone. Remember how great you felt when that outfit didn't fit.

Really think about those feelings and remember what they did for you.

That cake, those goodies, may give you a quick good feeling, but not as good a one as the scale going south and your clothes getting too big. Nothing like as good. And they will make you feel awful afterwards - carb bloated, guilty, disappointed in yourself and deflated by the inevitable upward move of the scales.

Hang in there. This time of year is HARD, but keep focused on afterwards - how completely fantastic mentally and physically you will feel if you can just stay tough.

Drink a LOT of water for the next few days, eat right and don't let yourself get hungry. You can do it. You know you can.
              Kate

CONGRATS! =) I hope I see that kind of success! For me, Atkins is really about gaining some power over my food addictions (which are all in the form of chocolate lol)

                    Re: Well well ...

I want to say a big thank you to Kate and Jlyn. Kate are you a counsellor .. you should be. I went back over my previous posts and remembered how I felt and I really do want to feel that way again. Your right about the bloating. After Friday night I did feel bloated and felt like I had put on weight. However I have weighed myself this morning and nothing has gone on and that has made me feel better. I now feel ready to carry on with this diet. Luckily I have not cheated with food so I have not come out of Ketosis. Here's hopefully to some more weight loss before Christmas.

                    Thanks again

Well here I am .. still doing this WOE yey. I'm down another 2 pounds. It's really coming off slow but in total I'm now down 14 pounds. It's taken 6 weeks but it's much better than I've ever done before. I'm hoping to stay strong over christmas. I've got my menu set out already and will do my best to stick to it. I think I will, losing weight is far too important to me. I will be having a glass of wine with my dinner but that will be it (hopefully). I hope everyone has a wonder christmas and we all manage to stay strong.
