  • Bell peppers..??

can you have bell peppers on induction?

the acceptable food list lists "peppers" but I assumed it meant "chile peppers"

    what about bell peppers?

    Re: Bell peppers..??

I think bell peppers are also allowed. At least I ate about 0.5 oz a few days ago, so I hope I didn't do anything wrong.

But considering that they only have 2 g of carbs in 1 ounce, I don't see any reason why they wouldn't be ok.

All peppers are allowed - the sweet ones as well as the hot ones - so eat and enjoy!!

OOOHHHH.......for dinner last night I had this:

Sweet red bell pepper stuffed with cooked pork sausage and shredded cheese over it. Stick in the oven on 350 for about 20 minutes until pepper is soft. HEAVEN!!!!! Even before this WOL I ate them.

              Eat them and enjoy!

I've also stuffed bell peppers with chicken salad (chicken, mustard, mayo, celery seed, pepper) and topped with cheese, induction-legal! Just put them in the oven until the cheese is gooey and melted and starting to brown.

No. The different colors have a different net carb amount---they're all less than 5 net carbs though. They also have a different vitamin content. Red bell peppers have more Vitamin C per cup than an orange.

what I made was Italian sausage (in bits) sauteed with bell pepper. onion, and 2 tblsp of Walden Farms bruscetta sauce served on a bed of creamed cauliflower ("fauxtatoes")

                            IT WAS WONDERFUL....

Lori, if you have leftovers of the sausage-pepper mix, use it as a filling for an omelette or as a quiche filling--- it's yummy way to recycle leftovers and save time on cooking a completely "new" meal. Another yummy recycle recipe is to heat the leftovers and wrap it in large lettuce leaves.
