  • Question about Maltitol

Hello experts...I have a quick question...i bought this sugar free maple syrup which says it has 0 sugar and 0 cabr impact...but it has Maltitol 9g...I read in DANDR that Dr. Atkinds said Maltitol has no effect on blood sugar so is acceptable but is it acceptable dring induction and if so in how much quantity and do we count any carbs for it? If not then other than davinci any other syrup recommendations cuz my stores dont carry that...

    thank you.

    Re: Question about Maltitol

I personally don't eat maltitol as I am not convinced it doesn't impact my blood sugar and losses. I know some people can have it and be okay.

      Re: Question about Maltitol

I don't have good luck with sugar alcohols.

For one, they cause HUGE cravings--my body gets that sweet taste and dumps a load of insulin in my body. It doesn't care that I didn't eat REAL sugar.

Another reason is that my body processes sugar alcohols just like plain old carbs. I don't ever get the explosive diarrhea (if the product goes RIGHT THROUGH you, then your body did NOT process the sugar alcohols like regular carbs, congratulations, enjoy your time on the potty! ) so I have to count all of the carbs anyway. Sugar alcohols do give me horrid gas, so I guess I'm not totally missing out on the experience.

DaVinci and Torani make SF syrups. I personally think that Torani is better quality. You can buy some syrups online.

You can buy torani products from online coffee suppliers or from places like amazon.
