  • Needing to feel less angry at myself

So, it's my last day of induction and I go and mess it up. For the first time I went over my carb count and it was completely on accident. I went to make a salad and realized after I tossed the vinaigrette into the lettuce that it has sugar in it Of course I was now out of lettuce and searched for 5 minutes to find a first list veggie in my fridge. So rather than eat the salad, I gave it to the kids and grabbed jicama instead. It's a first list veggie so I assumed it wouldn't have many carbs and be similar to the lettuce. I hadn't eaten one since started induction but I didn't even think twice until after I put it into fitday and bam... 25 net for the day and only three cups of veggies and OWL doesn't start till tomorrow. I feel really stupid and mad at myself right now

you could be mad at yourself if you downed a box of donuts or a half gallon of ice cream. going 5 grams over in carbs from trying to do the right thing isn't that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things. Just monitor your ketosis levels the next two days. Odds are it won't throw you out of it.

Just be a little more careful next time, go about your business and please don't beat yourself up over it.

Sheesh, your "bad" day on Induction beats almost all of my "good" days. No one ever got fat eating too many vegetables. Plus, your body isn't going to know that it's day 14 on induction or day 1 on owl. Who knows, you might be suprised with a whoosh because of it.

      Keep up the great work!

I agree with Effie! When I read the title I was thinking, "OH no, someone ate a dozen doughnuts or 3 boxes of cereal or a gallon of ice cream." So I was very pleasantly surprised to see an accidental veggie overdose. Veggies never hurt anybody!

It's your last day of induction, I say move to OWL and begin Rung 1 with a clean conscience! Just pretend that yesterday was your "warm up"...

I agree just consider yesterday your first day of OWL and move forward -- which by the way you should eat 25 carbs with the extra 5 carbs coming from veggies...so you are good to go

Re: Needing to feel less angry at myself

Thank you everyone for the support. I felt so upset and then I felt st*pid for being upset!
I won't count yesterday as the beginning of OWL since I only ate 3 cups veggies, but rather my body finalizing the message to move on to OWL and stay committed. After having to water down a diet soda I wonder how I ever ate sodas, and ice cream and all that sweet stuff. I feel so much better and clear headed. Even my ADHD isn't as bad! I am happy and looking at my 29 snowpeas I look forward to munching all day
