    Re: Starting Right Now!

    You CAN do it

Yes - we have a journal forum - in fact we have 2!!
They are listed towardss the bottom of the main forum listings page, under the heading 'Miscellaneous'

One is where you alone plus the moderator of the forum can post, and is for keeping stats etc and info like food intake etc that you want to stay uncluttered by other members chats/visits. This one is called Journal Stats http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...splay.php?f=94

The other one is called Journal Chats http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...aysprune=&f=31 and like most of the forums here, any member can post in any current journal. We have a lively supportive group of journallers who get on well together and many friendships have been forged here by visiting in each other's journals and posting support and advice as well as general chatting.

You can open one in each forum if you like. Make sure you read the 'sticky'thread at the beginning of each forum explaining how the different kinds of journal work.

      Re: Starting Right Now!

I thought I lost you guys. I have created a journal called The Rush For Cool Water. I am viewing the DANDR 2002 book. I haven't been able to list the amount of food I eat beause I need to eat to satisfaction right now and it's working! Last night I added a few exercises. I can't wait to reach 118 LBS.

I know it's working because my friends don't mention or ask anything-although they can tell by the way i'm eating in the restaurant. I wore a medium body shirt to the restaurant(no coat) yesterday and ordered talipia(fish) with double the vegetables(broccoli), and two diet cokes. I can't seem to quit these or coffee and tea...

What is a challenge? You have them for situps, squats etc. Where to I go for challenges?

That sounds really good. I often make up stuff and have it for breakfast the next morning. I had this delicious taco soup the other day for breakfast, my husband thought I was crazy until I gave him a bowl. LOL

              Re: Starting Right Now!

Yesterday I ate a pork chop,2 fried eggs, sourcream, sausage, cheese, guacamole, 2 chopped hard boiled eggs with Mayo and pepper, and cream cheese. I drank 3 cups water during the day and did my dingy exercises in the evening. I haven't been able to monitor my amounts yet of what I eat. I'm still losing. I need to get the vegetables more.

I'm trying to keep the food simple-Meat with eggs, just eggs, salsa, cheese, garlic, when I eat out I don't have bread, rice, beans, potatoes, pasta. I get say a hamburger without the bun...I get hungry fast so I have to have things to shove in my mouth quickly till I'm full...this is so I won't cheat. IF I get sweet craving, I grab a big tablespoon(About egg size) of cream cheese. And oh yes, I did ge a teaspoon of real butter to "just eat"-wonderfull!

I'm having a hard time with cutting coffee, tea, and diet drinks. I think it's the caffeine so I will try decaff.

We have several forums for challenges depending on whether they are exercise ones or just general 'sticking to Atkins' ones.
                Exercise Challenges forum
                http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...splay.php?f=51

6 Week Exercise Challenge forum (6WEC for short)
                http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...splay.php?f=97

Challenges forum (for those not included in the first 2 forums)
                http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...splay.php?f=20

Some of them are time-specific so you might have to wait till the next one starts (the 6WEC is one of those), but most of them you can join any time by posting in the relevant thread to say you are in and then posting your successes.

                  DAY 5
yESTER DAY we decided to eat out for early easter so I enjoyed the #2 picture of a leg and thigh dinner at Kentucky Fried Chicken at 4:00pm, with diet pepsi. I ate it all but the biscuit(don't like these and gave it to my husband).
I only went up 2 oz. on the scale! I was a little worried this morning as I weigh in between 5 and 6 am. I'm going to drink a lot of water today to wash the salt out that was in that meal! I'll continue with what I'm doing and check into those challenges

You did peel off the coating I assume?!? Otherwise you will have gone over your net 20 carbs for that meal alone I would imagine.

                        Re: Starting Right Now!

You will need to check out the nutriton info for the various fastfood chains to be sure to choose something lowcarb - many of them use unexpected sugars in marinades and rubs so you do need to find out before eating (as you have just discovered )

Most of them have nutrition info online for advance looking-up to avoid eating without checking!
There is a thread somewhere around with lots of websites which I will post a link to in a bit.
                        Edited to add

                          Re: Starting Right Now!

Thank you. Today I ate a ham slice and 1 oz cheese, 2 T cream cheese.
After Bowling we ate at Red Lobster and I ordered the Garlic Shrimp Scampi, garden salad with Lemon slice, and the steamed broccoli. I dumped the shrimp that had butter in it onto the broccoli, and what a meal. I had ice tea.

Thank you for all the helpfull information. I want to learn to eat right.

***I am so pleased at having made it to 117.8. This is the lowest I've been. I am now trying to make up an eating plan for the card games we go to. I will get no carb pork rinds for a start...then make a large amount of tuna salad to put on the rinds(like they do the boughten dip)

Do I buy the tuna in a can with OIL in it? I've always got the water pack. Which is the correct one?
