I was SO exited on my first 3 days of induction. I was determined to be by the book. I've got LOTS of weight to lose (~150 pounds). Now on day 4, I decided to track my progress on www.fitday.com. As I started entering my foods, I started to gasp! I can't believe how wrong my estimates have been. Main culprits?
Broccoli, Kale, Salad Dressing (Portion sizes of veggies were bad)
Sugar-free cough drops (I have a terrible cough, and I teach 4 choirs/week).
Even Splenda!!
Day 1=27 net carbs, Day 2=33 nc, Day 3=24 nc
The good news, I'm still in moderate ketosis since day 3. I'm eating WAY less carbs and calories than I was pre-induction, I still believe in the Atkins way, and I've even managed to lose a few pounds.
The bad news, starting out with a bad cold has made my "induction flu" even worse, (pounding headache, achy muscles), so I still need to use the sugar-free cough drops for my raw throat.
So I guess now I have to consider myself on day 1 all over again?
