Have you looked at Linda Sue's website? She has some recipes for quiches etc that can be made ahead of time and then you could have portions for breakfast a few days in a row etc..... she has some really great recipes!

Good morning! I think all those storms we had last night blew some strange air in because all of my students are bouncing off the walls today!

Day 3 is looking good! Hope everyone has a great day!

Morning! Yesterday was good on foods and exercise! I'm up a lb but you know - thats ok. I know I ate well, I exercised and some days... that scale isn't going to show what I know is happening! I'm getting fit and trim!

It's Friday! This weekend will be very busy! Working both days, my dad's birthday is Saturday so taking him and my mom to lunch/dinner and maybe a movie if they like, Sunday is Mothers day so after work meeting up with 10-15 family members for a brunch.... I WILL stay on plan for this! I didn't for the baby shower but I can for this, there is no excuse not too! There is goign to be omelettes made to order (all day), two carving stations, salad bar...yumm yumm!

Getting in that water today and will get in a workout tonight!

            Re: OFFICALLY Started 05/07/08

            Cheryl, thanks for inviting me.

Today is day 2, really it's sort of day three but since I was well over 20 carbs on my first day this is really day 2. I was totally in love with the scale this morning it said I was done 4lbs. Not sure it it is a true reading, but I'll take it.

I just woke up and haven't even begun to think about breakfast. I expect it will be bacon and eggs. I will be headed to the grocery store later today and I am a bit worried about walking down all of those isles. I still have to buy and cook the food that I'm not allowed on Atkins. *SIGH* It would be a lot easier if everyone in the house were on Atkins. Anyway, it seems like most of the vegetables that people eat on Atkins are really not my favorites. I love salad, but I expect that will get old quick.

The other thing I'm worried about is all the things that have carbs but say 0 zero carbs. In one atkins book I was reading his has lists of those "zero" points foods and their real value. When I start adding those carbs in I end up over 20 carbs a day. My link sausage says 0 zero carbs, my egg carton says zero carbs, my bacon says zero carbs, soda says zero carbs, but they are not according to my Atkins book.

Can someone share information about sweeteners. Is the liquid sweet-n-low okay to use. Can I have more than 2 servings of it since it does not contain bulk that adds carbs? I'm a BIG decaf tea drinker. I can't imagine going through the day without it. So much so that I would rather have all of my 20 carbs in sweetener. I know better than to do that, but the thought of going through the day without tea is torture. I've tried unsweetened but I just don't enjoy it without the sweetener.

            Thanks,
            Polly

                Re: OFFICALLY Started 05/07/08

Hey, Cheryl! Sorry I haven't been on much this week - have an upper respiratory infection - ugh! But feeling a little better today.

Congratulations on your weight loss! Pounds gone forever!!! I, too, have lost this week - 9 pounds - but it's due to the illness. Not exactly the way I wanted to lose it, but will take it anyway as long as it stays off! Still drinking lots of water, so hopefully it will stay off.

My favorite legal meal for induction is this broccoli/hamburger/mushroom/cheese casserole thingy that I found on Linda's Low Carb website. That stuff is AWESOME! I could eat it several times a week. There's also this mushroom sauce stuff she has that I love to use on chicken or hamburgers or whatever. It's really good, too.
