    I guess I'm a little late I just wanted to say that after reading the contents I believe it would count as 1 splenda carb for a day per shake? I didn't realize we were talking about something else already....
    But anyway......I thought carbless's post about the chicken leg at the gym was hilarious.....very true.

      I usually butt-out at this point, but I just really want to say that Stephie is one of the most kind-hearted people on this board. She in no way is a pushy person, just one who is very concerned about others and really wants to see everyone succeed.

      We have all failed and if sharing our experiences might help someone else to not make them, then it's worth the effort to respond. Not to discredit them b/c they have failed...that part kind of stung b/c I too have failed MANY times, but I have tons of good tips, info, knowledge, and most importantly experiece, to share with those who want to know, and I really wouldn't want someone to discredit what I say b/c I have had a few slip ups. I am certain you have got some great advice to give others based on your experiences! I really love when people come back to atkins and share their stories.

      That's why we're here, to support, share our stories, and learn ourselves. It's so hard with computers b/c all we see is the black and white and there it's hard to read HOW someone is saying something, and I truly think she was just wanting you to understand that it didn't work for her so be very careful b/c she didn't want you to go through what she already has.

      If it works for you, more power to ya, but it stall about 99% of people on Induction....you are absolutely one of those very lucky 1%.

      We all just want everyone to be able to change their lives, be healthy, and more importantly, stay that way.

        Wow, I can't believe all this mess over a shake.

        If you did not read many of the posts in your thread, several people, including myself, said that if it works for you, then by all means do it! I even said that I was going to look into them....I don't understand why you're taking her one reply and making that the general consensis of the board?? She simply said it didn't work for her.

        I really do want this as my ultimate goal. Right now the goal is to loose a bunch of weight however can.
        This is what she was responding too...you said yourself to lose the weight however you can. Perhaps you didn't mean that in the way it came across.. but you DID say that.

        This board is by NO means a 'cookie cutter' board...we do Atkins, and we do what works for us. If we were a cookie cutter board I seriously doubt half of us would be here b/c it's not in the plan to mess up and have to restart.

        She was only trying to help you and show concern. If that's not what you're looking for, perhaps another board would be best.

        I have never felt the need to defend anyone of this board before... I was clearly stating that she was a very kind person and I thought it was a misunderstanding...and what you both had said was being taken other than how it was ment.

        In my original post I said to use them if they work for you and if you run into problems, then try eliminating them to see if they are the culprit.

        Congratulations on your losses, I wish you many more to come!

          I vote we let this go. I didn't mean I would do ANYTHING. It was in the context of having a shake.

            Wow... agree to disagree on this one.

            This board IS a great place for support, information and motivation. We are all here bc we have something in common.. we wanna lose some weight- for many different reasons. Majority of us have tried this before, or at least some type of WL plan.... and we are all different. I dont think anyone on this board can honestly say they've done ATKINS 100% perfect ALL the time.

            Sometimes u gotta think about where we came from.... i use to eat 3 huge pancakes w/ sausgae and bacon and a glass of OJ for breakfast at least 3 days a week. Now i do have a Slimfast LC shake, or 2-3 ham roll, or lettuce wrap....not the best but i'm a cereal or pancakes girl and HATE eggs.. so i have to tweak it anywhere i can. I have had protein bars and shakes and it didnt stall me or cause cravings.. .when i slipped off and had junk or whatever i wasnt suppose to, its bc i choose too eat it ( I'm more of an emotional eater). We gotta think of this a a WOE for life that we as individuals have to be able to live with and maintain this eating style so sometimes u have to do what works for you.

            Congrats on your losses and plz stick around the boards, bc i really dont think anyone meant any harm... pl are just very passionate about eating right.

              Absolutely 100% right!!

              And BTW, those sound like perfect breakfast ideas to me!!! They are all great options b/c it's better than what you were eating, still helps you to stay on plan, and you're eating breakfast which is nearly impossible for some (me included)! LOL

              It is indeed very hard sometimes b/c the book was originally written in what, 1972?? and revised a few times over the years. Now a days there are bars and shakes and all sorts of things that seem as though they should be induction friendly but since they are not in the book, some say no.

              You just can't help but wonder how the book would be revised by Dr A if he was around today.

                  I agree with both of you and I do agree this board is in general supportive. I guess we all need to be careful how we say things because things get taken so literal when maybe not meant that way. I will stay... I just hope things can go a little lighter and will try to do so too.

                  I also have also considered that the book is very old and the shakes and stuff weren't around then. That's why I feel the plan for me needs tweaked to fit what is available today.

                  Happy low carbing however you do it!

                    I have tried low carb so many ways and have made a lot of mistakes and just wanted to help.

                      apology accepted and please accept mine for reviling back at you. I guess the words here can be so definate when we mean them in a softer or different way. I know I didn't mean I would do anything to lose yet said it. So all is well and we can be proud for working it out. At least I feel good about that and I can see you *are* nice.

                          I am glad we can put this behind us, I really did feel badly and did not know what to do last night and decided to wait until today to post and I am so happy we can start fresh with a new day and support each other !!

                                I say enjoy them girl! Eveyone may seem like they are being down on you but it's not the case. This is an atkins board so most people tend to follow the book to a tee and when you ask advice that isn't to the tee then of course they want to tell you where you are going wrong. May not be wrong in general but as far as a "clean" induction it is. everyone loses weight differently. I have tried varied low carb diest as well as atkins and lose with either one. Everyone's body is different. If you are still losing and this shake keeps you sane and gives that little treat that you miss then it's nothing to be down about. Keep having them. Maybe that's why low carb doesn't work for a lot of people. beacause we give up everything completely and then binge when we reach our breaking point. if we can find something very low in carbs and it doesnt stall our weight then it would be easier to stick to it longer. So drink up!
