    Re: Salad Dressing

Hello! I make my own salad dressing because I can't stand that bottled taste. I find bottled ranch awful, but if you enjoy it...go for it! Remember not to choose low fat or fat free varieties. Buy a brand that is low in carbs and full fat.

As for soda I kicked that habit to the curb months ago. I drink water. Love the stuff!

      Re: Salad Dressing

got a question: haven't really seen people tell stories of salad dressings stalling them (talking about the regular ones like ranch and stuff with 1g net per tbsp or whatever).

I use about 2 tbsp's of ranch dressing a day, I think it comes out to 2 net carbs or something. I would assume that this would be ok. but do you think the limited amount of milk in it, or anything else could be making me stall. would 2 tbsp's make that much a difference? Is it worth it to cut them out?

Carbless - I don't have a problem with salad dressing. The ones I make are mayo or sour cream based. I didn't have trouble with the bottled stuff either, it's just a taste preference.

For salad dressing, use oil and vinegar or lemon juice and herbs and spices. Prepared salad dressings without added sugar and no more than two carbs per tablespoon serving are also fine.

Diet Rite sodas ared made with splenda and have a lot of flavors.

You have to check the net carbs on the back of any food you eat to include the dressings. I am not sure of the nutitional value but if it has added sugar your probably going to be better off wih something like Walden Farms or Kens, Wishbone also has low net carb dressings.

I either make my own (blue cheese or crumbled gorgonzola with olive oil, just shake it up and voila...) or if I buy I use Annie's Natural's brand, it's organic and a lot of the dressings are not just sugar free but vegan and gluten free. Also if you have a Sunflower Market near you, they have their own store brand with a lot of organic sugar free salad dressings.

It's sad, but sooooo many products contain 1 of these. I just steer clear of any product containing any of these altogether. If you have a health food store near you, you can find some good organic, sugar free products there. With groceries being super expensive these days, the cost of organic vs. regular is almost at par.

Good luck! I hope you find one that you enjoy!
I have never seen orgaic dressing that didn't have sugar in them. My health food store has all kinds of "organic" foods but they all have cane sugar, organic molassis. Like organic makes it better.

                    Re: Salad Dressing

Yeah, lot's of organic dressings do have sugars, that's why like I said, it's important to read the label. It's a rare find to find organic products without organic sugar, however, when found it's like a rare gem. I think organic products are better, but that's because I would prefer to have my food without pesticides, hormones, sewage, antibiotics etc....
of course, not a debate over regular vs. organic, this is just my personal preference
