  • Another question...

Ok I have been in induction for a little over 2 1/2 weeks and have lost 15 lbs., but not any in the last week 1/2. I read earlier that your urine will smell funny when in ketosis, I remember mine being that way, but dont notice it now. I'm thinking I have eaten something that has thrown me out of ketosis. I just cant think of what, I have done really good to stay with what I am supposed to eat, unless I'm getting hidden stuff.

My husband says he can really see the difference and that inches are coming off, but how can you loose inches without fat? I love this diet and am determined to stick it out, just can be tricky sometimes.

    Thanks for all your help!!!

Razzle posted a good answer to your question here

If you haven't added anything new at all and think you may be out of ketosis...you can always post a menu and we can have a look to see if there are any red flags in there. Also list your stats...age..height..weight and goal...that sort of thing.

Great work so far! Read the book and the stickies about OWL and consider moving up the rungs.

you can also tell if you're in ketosis when you get "ketosis breath". you'll know it when you have it.

Dr. Atkins wrote in his book that the loss of inches represented the fat emptying from your cells.

          Re: Another question...

Are you exercising? If you are, the answer could be very simple... muscle weighs more than fat. You can still very likely be burning the fat away and replacing it with the good stuff... muscle. You would be shrinking in inches, and maybe not losing any weight at all.

If you are eating right, and getting your exercise, the weight will start dropping again.

But, just to be sure, how about posting what you're eating on a normal day, and how much you have to lose to be at goal.

Oh, and congrats on that 15 lb loss already!!!! That's great!!!!

Calling it GOAL at this point. I'm happy with where I am now and hope to stay there, or maybe even take it down a little more.
