  • I need help!!!!

    Hello everyone,

    I completed my 14th day of induction on 10/2, and I decided to stay on induction for 2 more weeks. I lost 12 lbs, but for the last week I've stayed on 197lbs. Does that mean that Ive stalled??? I eat 3 x's a day and have decaff coffe in the morning w/ one pack of splenda a 2 tablespoons of half & half, is that ok. I dont really exercise but I am going to start walking today for 30 min. Please help me.

    Are you drinking enough water? Have you eaten any "hidden" carb foods? Are you working out? If you aren't sure about your menu, post it so the experts here can comment on it. Drink that water....WHOOSE!

      Hi Gigi
      It is probably a little pause - they happen on Atkins. Weightloss in not linear. To be a stall you have to be at one level for more than four weeks not losing weight or inches. Are you measuring inches as well?
      Walking is good - should keep your metabolism going.
      I suggest posting a menu to have people have a look in case there is something amiss.

        Hi Gigi,
        Drop the half & half and use heavy cream in your coffee. Half & half has milk in it and is for Rung 2 Dairy. Also watch for sugar in the ingrediants. Milk contains sugar.
        Liv is right, when your body isn't losing pounds, it's losing inches. That's when the tape measure becomes a better friend than the scale.
        Don't be afraid to move up to Rung 1 Veggies. It's only 5 grams more of veggies other than what you're already eating on induction. Choosing 5 more grams of veggies off of either salad veggies or off of the other veggie list. Plus you get more fiber in aswell. Most often it will get the scale moving again.
        Walking is a wonderful exercise. It's actually #5 on the best aerobic exercise list. It will keep your metabolism fired up and will melt the pounds off.
        Congratulations on the 12 pounds gone forever!! That's fantastic!
        Make sure to get that tape measure out, you'll be glad you did.
        Like Liv said, you may want to post your menu for us to see. Maybe there's something we can help with you there.

          You are doing great Gigi, but I third the post your menu. It may just be your body adjusting to things, it may be hidden carbs, or it may be that you are not eating enough and have put your body in starvation mode. You mentioned you are eating three times a day. But you didn't mention any snacks. Sometimes when we get into ketosis good we aren't hungry enough to eat the number of calories we need if we aren't forcing a few. Keep up the good work.
          1st Goal ~ 199 Onderland -Met 3/29/10
          2nd Goal ~ 174 No longer obese
          3rd Goal ~ 150 In the home stretch
          Final Goal ~ 145 or below (I'll know when I get there) No longer overweight

            Thank -you all very much. Sherri, what I have at home is heavy whipping cream, is that ok?? Hey Barb great job on the 5.6 lb lost. I will post my menu but I am not really good in weighing my food but I will tell you most nights I eat meat cooked in olive oil and greens beens in butter. After dinner I have a cupof coffee now with heavy cream. I dont know how to vary food, most of the times I dont even know what to cook. That is my problem. But I guess Im doing something right if I lost
            12lbs. right.

                          I like the two above said, never ever know what to cook. My menus are usually the same.

                          I broil most of my meats. I should probably be sauteeing them to add the fats huh? Also, if you stay on induction to long, will it stall you? Why do some ppl choose to stay on extended induction? I have been on it for 4 weeks, but the first two weeks I had not lost a pound, so I figured out what I did wrong and saw some success the first week (8pds), but this week I only lost 1 pound. SO, I am trying ot problem solve as well. Also, maybe I am not eating enough, but I am pretty sure I am. My main staple on this diet has been hard boiled eggs. I eat between 2-5 a day! Well, Good Luck!!!

                            Hello izza, yes you should really sautee your meats. It looks like we have the same problem. What I've been doing is that I go through all the receipe forums and print the ones I like and try it (im not really good at that but im trying).
