I admit that I've only really studied the pages of DANDR that cover Induction (p. 107-154) and have only skimmed the rest. I'm on day 6 of Induction and am doing pretty well. I've read on this board that the members here follow Dr. Atkins 2002 book, which is the one I have. What I'm confused about is that the Rules of Induction in DANDR don't talk in terms of Net Carbs, they talk in terms of Carbs (see p. 123 and 143 for example). I know I must be missing something. My mom did Atkins years ago and doesn't remember the Net Carbs concept either. She counted total Carbs. I know you all are experts so I thought I'd ask you. I definitely don't want to be figuring this wrong. Is the Net Carbs concept in the 2002 version of DANDR?And then my last question, although DANDR says a good rule of thumb is to count one ounce of cheese as 1.0 carb, don't you think it's okay to follow Dr. Atkins' Carb Gram Counter book and include the actual Net Carb count, which happens to be way less than 1.0 for the kinds of cheese I always eat -- cheddar (0.4 net carbs/oz) and muenster (0.3 net carbs/oz)?
Thanks everyone!
Kristen
