    Re: Induction Buddies 11/30-12/13

    83~ Heya, I definitely have the "induction flu". I'll get these random hot flashes and bouts of nausea, but they come and go quickly. Maybe that's how you can tell the difference? Not sure. That's just me...

    ~~~
    Am cooking a chicken right now. My mom's a vegan/vegetarian so we didn't really have much meat in the house growing up, so I have to learn how to cook it. I actually called my friend for directions on how to cook chicken. And then I ended up starting a small fire b.c my oven is the size of a shoebox, literally. Hopefully it will turn out OK, though, b.c the not burnt part of the chicken smells really good.
      Hey Focused hope your chicken taste good. How did you cook it? just roasted it in the oven? I always make chicken wings because i dont really like the taste of chicken breast its yummy fresh out the oven.
      If you are stuck for recipe ideas the forum has loads of really interesting and yummy sounding dishes
      Also hope you feel better and get over the induction flu.
        Already had 2 pints of water though, I'd forgotton how much water your body needs with this WoE.
        Sorry to bust in on your post.. but the book says you shouldnt go more than 6 waking hours without eating. So i would assume that is after breakfast not to go more than 6 hours since you most likely ate dinner at between 6-8 pm you would need something to feed the body so it does not feed on itself for energy. I would try to eat something in the morning even if it is something small.
        Just my Opinion.
          Hi everyone! I'm one over on my carb count today. That's what I get for eating without tallying things up in fitday until I was done with dinner.
          Focused-its amazing the things that taste so sweet when you eliminate added sugars. Tomatoes, while much more obvious, always amaze me.
          83--Its day 3, I hope you make it! I remember you said you haven't been able to make it past day 3 yet.
            Phillia~ Argh! That's so frustrating to be over. I'm the same way and don't really know how to plan out what to eat without making myself crazy. I keep track in a paper journal and try to tally them up as I go, but it's still a challenge...
            83~ Hoping you're over the three day hump! I did end up just roasting the chicken (w. some Atkins-approved butter...) It was delicious and am planning on using the leftovers to make soup.
            Today is officially day #4. Woot!
            Am still having "hot flashes" and bouts of nausea, but they come and go quickly.
            The chicken last night was delicious, although I felt a bit piggish eating almost the entire thing by myself.
            Am about to meet a friend at McD's for breakfast, but am planning on ordering the big breakfast platter w.o the hashbrown or bread.
            Stay strong, everyone!
                Welcome myskinny. It has been pretty quiet around here. My guess is that lots of people go off plan this time of year, and few people start a diet. Wait 'til January 1st. The induction forum will be packed.
                    Doin' OK so far today. Had a breakfast meeting at McDs and ordered the Bacon, Egg, and Cheese McMuffin, minus the muffin. Was still hungry so I had some chicken nuggets and spent the longest time peeling off the fried part. My meeting buddy commented that I seemed "dedicated". For real.
                    Just got a message that I have a package waiting for me. Hope it's my copy of DANDR. Would be super reading for the bus and since no one here speaks English, I don't even have to be wary of people lookin' at me funny...
                      Hi Eva, welcome
                      Philliha - yes i managed to survive day 3 but there was a moment of weakness in there though. My partner eats whatever he wants and never puts on weight. Last night he was eating cake and was almost shoving one down my mouth but i resisted!! i feel like this is a huge achievement for me
                      Focused- i love roast chicken but the breast part is so dry for me. I had some left over breast last night so i cut them up and deep fried them and ate with veg. was delicious and tasted like little nuggets . Trying to think up easy things to make because if its difficult i end up not bothering lol
                      -------------------
                      I feel good today but then over here its only 9.15am. Focused you made me want mcd breakfast. The problem is i don't normally eat breakfast because it will set my hunger off. Im the type of person that if i dont eat my hunger stays quiet but the moment something touches my tongue it sets me off on a eating marathon. Hope you are all doing well! gonna try hard to get past day 4!!
                        I just started into on 12/2/2008. I also need a buddy because I'm not sure that I'm doing the program rate.
                        How has it gone for you so far?
                          Welcome aboard behealthy! So far not too many of us in this thread seem to have fallen away, so it looks like we're helping to keep each other accountable, woohoo!
                          So far so good. I'm not weighing until after induction because TOM is approaching (that's time-of-month for anyone new). I usually gain about 7 pounds of retained water during that time and don't want to get discouraged. But I feel great and am on plan!
                            Welcome, Behealthy.
                            83~ Oops about making you want breakfast... . Breakfast usually works the opposite way for me: once I eat it, I feel full and satisfied for the rest of the day.
                            Holly~ Good for you not weighing in until after all affecting factors have passed...
                            ~~~
                            Still motivated, still goin' strong.
                            Had another "breakfast meeting" and our host made a surprise breakfast spread. Thank goodness, there were scrambled eggs and tomatoes there for me. Woot! I indulged a bit, but will make up for it in the rest of the day.

                            I'm not going to mention the other foods that were there for fear of setting anyone else off, but they were reeeeally good and I kept away from anything blatantly empty carb. (I also have a life-threatening allergy to nuts that kept me away as well, so it wasn't entirely willpower...) I also ate 1oz of colby jack cheese before I left home, so I'm at about 24 grams for today. Damage done BUT I'm not going to let it derail me.

                            Making "faux-tatoes" w. cauliflower now. Mmmmmm!
