    Hi guys. thanks for this thread. In my *former* life I stopped by Mickey Dees for the 2 for 2 sausage mcmuffin special. This morning I drove through & got 2 sausage patties and 2 *round eggs.* The eggs appear to be poached in a little round thing. Real egg. It cost about 2x as much but I was so happy to be able to eat a deece breakfast at the drive through on my way to the job!! This is day four for me. So far so good ... 5 lbs down. Happy Induction to All!

      Kate.. you should be able to order the 2 for 2 special without the muffin add egg for not much more than the special. I do this with double cheese burgers when they are 2 for $1. Just order without the bun and they come in a plastic bowl.

      But I know what you mean.. it is good to be able to order something in the drive through. I have two kids and when we are traveling we sometimes have to stop and the salads at those places are not always that good.

      Good luck on the weight loss so far and good luck on the rest of your induction.

        Hi everyone,

        I too started induction on Dec. 1 and am thrilled to see others going through some of the same things. I am feeling great - no cravings, but am too scared to weigh myself. I don't really know how much I weighed when starting. I get too discouraged when I don't see the scale move and have found it better to just stick to the rules and hope my pants start feeling looser! No extra fabric yet, but I am still hoping!

        I was wondering if you are all making yummy induction legal recipes from this site or are you all sticking with plain meat and veggies with olive oil/butter. I have been trying some of the recipes on this site (staying within the limits of 3-4 oz cheese/3oz heavy cream etc.) and feel like I am cheating. Would I have quicker loses with plain meats and veggies? (Yesterday, I made a mock danish for breakfast and oppsies rolls with a hamburger for dinner...YUM)

          Hello everyone. Day 9 of induction for alot of us. Last night I just about lost it with a sweet tooth that I didn't have before but the donuts at the mini mart were screaming at me!! I opened the door and took a wiff of what at the time seemed like heaven. I didn't give in to the temptation but jeez it was tempting!!

          Quick question for those who are familiar with the diet. I had some ketone stix that a friend gave me and on day 5 I tested with no reaction. The expiration date on the bottle said 1998 so I figured they were bad. Today I was cleaning up and was going to throw the bottle out when I decided to try again. DARK PURPLE!!! I'm in ketosis!! Most of you know that I haven't lost any weight thus far. So my question is this=Does it normally take someone to enter ketosis a week? And now that I know I'm in ketosis how do insure I stay there? Should I start losing now?

          I'm really glad I stuck with it even with no results. I can't tell you happy I was to see that stick turn purple!!! Alot of temptations coming up with 2 christmas partys next week!! I'm cool with the food part its the alcohol I wanna partake in!! Why is all the good stuff bad???? LOL

          Thanks again for everyones support I seriously have been telling everyone I know about this site and how supportive everyone is.

          Carboholic-are you testing to see if your in ketosis?
          Focus 83-Have fun at your x-mas party!! I'm not sure what I'm gonna do at this point I'm so excited to be in ketosis I may do the water/vodka trick too!!

            Just a quick after thought, I've taken everyones advice on what I could possibly be doing wrong and cut out the bacon and sausage. I've been strictly eating

            Bfast=eggs scrambled with butter
            Lunch=can of tuna with mayo 2 cups of lettuce
            Dinner=can of tuna with mayo and celery about 3 sticks
            or=chicken breast with melted cheese and mayo wrapped in lettuce
            or=hamburger with cheese and mayo wrapped in lettuce.

            The day I added bacon I was really sick!! I've been trying to think healthy as well.

            Still exercising daily, and drinking about 150-200 oz's of water!!

              Jodi--so glad you're feeling better today!
              Kate--welcome to the thread and congrats on the 5 lbs.
              Elizabeth--No way do I feel like I'm cheating. If I just ate plain meat and veggies every day I would get bored too quickly. This is a lifestyle change, so as long as you're staying withing the guidelines in the book, indulge! Spinach lasagna is my favorite recipe!
              Denise--as long as you are in ketosis, you are burning fat. You may not see scale losses immediately, but don't worry--you will! You ensure you stay there by following the book: a clean induction and then progressing through OWL until you find your CCLL.

                i just realized its been a week for me on induction yay.

                Last night was horrible i went to bed early and woke up 2hrs later with a massive craving for something sweet. but i didnt give in not even to SF jello lol.. i am truely doing it clean and honestly i feel if i ate the jello i would somehow cheat myself.. i need to know have more self control. anyways im going to start my period thats why i was craving it so badly! idk if im going to weigh myself anymore until im off my period cause im pretty sure ill still bloat like crazy and i dont want to get bummed lol. i did 20min of turbo jam and going to walk on the treadmill in a few.

                i keep seeing these cheesecake recipes yum! but i wont touch until after induction anyone know where to buy liquid sucralose/stevia? i live in CA but in a small town i check our major stores and had zero luck

                  Day 9

                  denisk - I have tested with the ketone strips and have seen that I am in the lighter purple zone (80) since day 2. (Day one was a medium pink/purple color). I bit the bullet today and weighed and I too have only lost .4 tenths of a pound in 9 days. I am better off not weighing myself - with my birthday and my 2 childrens birthdays coming tomorrow and in the next weeks, as well as Christmas and New Years...it will be very easy to think I have only lost not quite 1/2 pound what do I have to lose...I will just start in January and enjoy the holidays and birthdays. Are everyone else's clothing starting to be loose? My are still tight. I know I should only expect 5-10% of total weight loss in induction, but I keep reading this is when you see the biggest results. I haven't figured out how to use the ticker things yet but I have 22 pounds to lose. I guess I need to have patience. This will be the ultimate test on my willpower.

                  I have felt really good up until this afternoon. This is the first day I have felt sluggish and REALLY hungry. I ate breakfast too late and I think that got the cravings going.

                  Has anyone tried the recipe for the clouds? I was thinking over Christmas making them so that when the family is celebrating my birthday and my kids I could snack on them while they eat all the sugary food. Does this typically stall people?

                  I am keeping in mind how good I feel not being controlled by food and thoughts of my next good snack. I can do this through the holidays! denisek - Eat a good healthy meal before your Christmas party making sure to get enough fats and hopefully you will be able to get through the party fine! Hang in there!

                  I have read you can by liquid sucralose from Sweetzfree. It appears to be the best tasting according to the sites I have read, but I guess you can only order it from them directly. Can't imagine why Splenda doen't make it?

                  MySkinnyMission - good for you for doing it clean. I think that's the best way to go - then there is no wondering what could be the problem! Awesome! I have also had problems sleeping. I go to sleep very easily but 2 hours later wake up and am not tired. Hopefully, it from my metabolism being reved so much!! LOL

                  Holly - I will have to try the Spinach Lasagna! I guess you are right, getting bored will be the death of Atkins for me! I am with you on that! I keep telling myself I am alright with a slow weight loss as long as I don't dread every meal and choking down plain meat and veggies!

                    First of all, if you have 22 lbs to lose, then you can expect to lose about 2 pounds during induction, so don't be too hard on yourself. You're not going to lose the big numbers that someone who has 70 pounds to lose will. The gain of control over food has been the biggest benefit for me on this WOE. I remember the first time I made brownies at a friend's house and wasn't even tempted to try one or lick the spoon. Honestly I think it was the first time I've ever truly had control over my diet.

                    From what I hear, clouds can cause major cravings, so be careful with them!

                      That's what I hear. It is just so hard. I had tried this several months ago and it took so long for a few pounds. (After 30 days of induction 5 lbs. lost.) I had actually gotten info. from lowcarbfriends.com where they said I HAD to have 20 net carbs/day with 12-15 from veggies. I was stuffing myself with veggies til I was ill. It just was too many carbs for me. I do better, I see now with 12-15 net/day while keeping the 65-30-5 ratio of fats/protein/carbs %. While reading any posts I could to find out if I was doing something wrong, I came across Stillman's. I tried that WOE and could loose 1 lb. a DAY. Yes, I lost all of my weight in about 3 weeks. It was SHEAR torture but it definently worked for me. The problem was once I had lost the weight I had INCREDIBLE cravings that I wouldn't normally ever have. I went crazy eating things that I don't normally like. It was horrible. I could not resist anything! (My only weakness really is popcorn, I am not an ice cream, chocolate eater.) But after Stillman's I wanted it ALL. Thus, I am here again trying to get the same pounds off once again.

                      It is just hard knowing I know how to drop it fast, but it will not be forever that way. With Atkins, I feel in total control. At this point I wouldn't cheat if someone paid me. I feel the cravings gone and a steely resolve with my willpower.

                      I am a second timer. In 2001, I lost 55 lbs. in 5 months on Atkins and kept it off until this year. Building a house and baking for the workers...stress... you name it...I blew it. So, like you said, patience it will be. I love the feeling of control over my food!

                        hi yall!
                        im starting indt. again tomorrow.did it about 8 yrs ago. i lost 11 pds the first 2 weeks . then we had a sevier ice storm here and didnt have elect. for 3 weeks. then came junk foods!! i never have been able to start again. i start and it last 1 day at the most. now its a matter of life or death. so please pray that i have the will power to do what i need to suceed..

                          Okay Good Morning Everyone,

                          It is day 8 of intro and I've lost 7 pounds! I'm really pumped up
                          I really think this will be life changing for me. I'm drinking so much water now, where as before I drunk soda's and juice all day. Now I just need to get moving more

                            Day Five for me and all is well. A couple of things I have noticed: my skin is so much softer. I guess that's because of the higher fat content in my diet? and my mood is so much more stable. and my arthritis pain in my hip and shoulder has definitely decreased to the point where it is entirely manageable. unbelievable! and finally, my appetite is way way down. I drove through Mickey's and ordered three sausages and a glass of water and really couldn't believe it when I was satisfied after only one sausage patty. So I guess it couldn't be any better at this point. I'm so glad to have begun my reinduction after a year fooling myself into believing that I could eat carbs without damage.

                            ps -- can someone help me get my ticker to work? i'm computerly disadvantaged, i guess.

                              Hey everyone!! well done on all your losses, you are all doing brilliantly!! I am on day 10 today and i am really struggling. Im fine in the day but its at nighttimes when my partner eats yummy treats like cakes and crisps and chocolate!!

                              I resisted so much!! i ate celery and cream cheese when all i wanted was a big bite of that cake. But even with the cheese i put on a lb today. (i now know cream cheese is bad for me and im just gonna stick with the more solid cheeses for the time being) cant wait for induction to be over, it would be such a achievement to have successful gone past the 14 days

                                Day 10-No weight loss even though I'm in ketosis!! Getting frustrated at watching the scale sit at 180, I even put WD-40 on it just in case it was stuck!! LOL Thats not even the worst of it!! I'm supposed to be starting a new job today going to Fresno to start training tomorrow. I had to take a drug test last week and got a call saying it was diluted and I have to retake. The company won't pay for the retest so I have to pay. I'm guessing that the large amounts of water I've been drinking had something to do with it even though another person has to retest for the same reason. The test costs about $50 and I don't have the money. I'm trying to borrow it so I can go to training. UUMM HELLO if I had money I wouldn't be looking for a job!! I'm trying to borrow the money. I can't believe all this bull- . I live with a police officer and don't use drugs in anyway. I'm actually on a anti-drug campaign to help children stay away from them. I feel like I'm being accused in a way and having to pay for something that isn't my fault!! WHATEVER!!!

                                FOCUS- I had the same awful cravings the other night and thought for sure I'd give in but I didn't and the cravings went away. Hang in there!! I would be having a talk with my husband about being more supportive!! Thats just me though!!

                                I'll keep ya'll posted on what happens.
