    Re: Induction Buddies 11/30-12/13

Day 11 here and I have finally lost 1 pound! I am not so sure I am all that excited as I am feeling heavier and bloated.

I don't feel that I am sacrificing all that much on induction but am concerned with a trip to my brother's in New England coming up over the holiday's. With the accommodations, I am not sure that I can continue induction without ticking off his wife. She goes to great ends to cook exquisite meals and I think she may be quite offended if I am in their TINY kitchen trying to cook my own meals. (They are vegetarians!) I do think that they would understand my limitations however, my sister-in law just CANNOT tolerate someone else in her kitchen whatsoever!! For now, I will stay the course and try to figure out how to smuggle my own food into their house.

Hey Everyone! My name is lulu and im new to Atkins and wanted to thank everyone on here....reading everyones struggles and success has helped keep me focused. I am on day 5 of induction and awoke this morning to awesome suprise, down 9 pounds!!! Im amazed because no matter what diet ive tried in the past my fat anchored down the fort as if to battle the weightloss, lol.
A little background on me is Im 21, and after the last two years have gained about 35 pounds without a diet or exercise change. After a year of trying to conceive without success, I sought my docs help and was told I have polycystic ovary syndrome. Which explains my weight gain and a few other things. Instead of trying the meds they have out there, I opted to try to correct the issue naturally. My doc said to try Atkins, that it was the only way I'd lose weight, no matter how much I worked out. Soooo.....after all that here I am and look forward to joining the group for strength and support!

Day 14 for me is tomorrow! I can't wait to measure and get on the scale on Day 15. I'm really hoping to have lost a few pounds and be below 195. Since this wasn't a true induction for me and I was only eating around 100 carbs a day before, I know I won't see a huge loss--but I realy hope I'll see a couple of pounds or inches.

          How's everyone doing?

              Hey Everyone!!!

I am so excited!!!!!!!! I was down to 167.8 today!!! I started at 173!!!!!! PLUS I have been in ketosis the WHOLE time. I do have admit I did have a few cocktails (Bacardi and Diet) and one day I had a few bites of a sugar cookie with frosting, but come on now, its the holiday season!!!!!! So I am VERY proud of myself. I only want to lose like 7 more lbs, what should I do now? Stay on the induction or what?

Also in case any of you didn't already know, Bacardi or any hard alcohol that is silver, has NO carbs!!! Then paired with diet with spenda....YUM!!!! Happy Holidays!!!!!!!

              Jodi

                Hey there!!!

I have to tell you the first week on the induction was extremely hard for me, plus we are smack dab in the middle of the holiday season, which makes it 10 time harder!!!!!! You can totally do it!!!!!!! Just believe in yourself, and on the days you don't, write your frustrations on here. I did that last week when I was seriously wondering if I was going to survive on this diet. I did and you will too. Not to mention EVERY person and their brother told me why I should not do this diet!!!!!! That made it even harder! Anyway, need not to worry now. I just tell them they use cornmeal and breads to fatten cows........lol. So why on earth would I NEED that to live. While everyone else is eatting brownies, cookies, fudge, I am eatting the meat and cheese and veggies. While everyone else will be gaining weight this holiday season, we are all losing it!! Instead of those new years resolutions to lose weight we will beable to focus on much more powerful things instead of losing weight.

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!! Please write when you are feeling down, someone on here WILL cheer you up!!!!!

Hi Jodi--with only 7 pounds left to lose, definitely move on to OWL! You will get to add in lots of yummy foods, including more veggies, then eventually nuts, berries, and your bacardi. It should make getting through the holidays so much easier!

With less than 10 pounds to lose, I believe you're technically in pre-maintenance (although I'm nowhere near that stage so my memory might be fuzzy), so check out the OWL and pre-maintenance forums.

Congrats on your loss and thanks for your support!
