But mine is a little stricker than a regular induction. Mine is try to account for less than 5 carbs a day like his was.
This is not Atkins and is definitely not healthy. You are depriving your body of many nutrients by eating only 5 carbs (not too many veggies that can go in there, unless you eat 3 cups of lettuce or smthg similar). And while you might lose weight, you are not learning a new way of eating for life... which is the idea behind Atkins.

      Re: cheating

As a fellow beginner on induction, my advise is don't cheat. It just isn't worth it. Would you tell an alcaholic that just one glass of champagne would be OK just this once for a celebration? I think not. I look at high carb foods as an addiction and if I slip, even just a little, it will be a long road back. Good luck maintaining your wil power, I know you both can do it.

        Re: cheating

What if you brought your own controlled carb pancake mix and syrup to breakfast?

I am sure your family would respect your weight loss efforts and help you cook it for you and your husband.

This way you can still celebrate his release from hospital, and not wreck your efforts completely.

You could make your pancake batter using one of the many induction-legal recipes around and take it with you. In UK we usually eat pancakes sprinkled with lemon juice and sugar so subbing splenda for the sugar would keep it 'legal' .
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
