So do I need to eat close to my BMR to keep from going into starvation mode? I'm supposed to be eating around 1900 calories a day. I've been running on 1200-1700 calories a day and have noticed a definite slowing of loss. Thanks!

BMR is the minimal amount of calories your body needs to function. So, if you were in a coma, the doctors could give you 1900 calories a day without having to worry they are overfeeding you. So yes, eating too far below your BMR can derail your weight loss efforts.~Megs~

Just found the answer in the FAQ section, thanks! It goes against everything I have ever learned to eat that much and still lose weight, but I'm going to give it a good shot!24 YO/F 5'9"
