  • Things didn't add up...

Ok I used another scale to weigh in and it didn't figure it said I lost 19 lbs but that couldn't be...

Soooo I went and got my weight set and tested my scale it was in fact appx 9 lbs off on the plus side. So I got out the measuring tape, I have in fact lost weight. the best I can figure is I have lost about 10 lbs Im only on day 4, granted I knew atkins before I started and I think I may have enter ketosis earlier by cutting back to induction before I offically started.

    Daily activities:
I been on a routine below for exercise any suggestions are welcome.
Day 1: Work out upper body
Day 2: Cardio for an hour ( usually running up and down stairs)
Day 3: Work out lower body
Day 4: Cardio for an hour (a Rowing machine or stationary bike)
    Day 5: Work out Upper
Day 6: Just walking and walking and walking some more
Day 7: Same as day 6
Drinking anywhere from 100-200oz of water a day.

What was funny was during the bike I was reading a health magazine laughing at all the articles of how low fat diets are better than low-carb. How low carb is just a fad like the 1970's not sure about that once since I haven't be around that long but sounds phony and then they have a comment like "all diets work" what the? but you just said low carb was bad now you say it works....ok I know its hard to say but say it with me I'm wrong low-carb diets are the good.

One question that bugs me is 10 lbs normal for about 4-7 days of induction? Not an exact count of days becuase of the period of time when it wasn't offical but is that normal or is it mostly water weight?

If its normal I forgot how well this diet works, man why did I ever get off it?

One more thing I know I may have a lot of questions answer by the DANDR but my copy is in the mail I got it for .45 cents +S&H So when I get it I will shut up for the most part...thanks for your time!

    Hello Will :wave
Congratulations on the weight lost so far :clapping :clapping

Most poeple lose between 5% and 10% of their hoped-for weight loss during the 14 days of induction so you are well up on that :joy

Your exercise schedule sounds awesome - weigh to go

A fair bit of your initial loss will be water weight - but what the heck - it's 10 pounds you are not carrying about with you so who cares!!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Check out our Low Carb Recipes website and add to it!!

If you shut up when you get your DANDR what fun could we have. Of course many of us women get offended when you men loose more in a week then what we loose in 2 months, but if we kicked all the men out we would be bored.
The Century Club is a great place to hang out, and I hear the mens forum is cool. Just don't go away ha

"Your exercise schedule sounds awesome" - thanks I take advantage of the gym at work great equipment only about 10 people per shift use it and thats if they do use it, but I always the only one in there jamming. I think they want us to stay in shape. I won't look that gift horse in the mouth!!!

ok Laurenfra next time I weigh I'll hold an eight pound weight for you women next time

"if we kicked all the men out we would be bored. "

and you wouldn't get grey hair can't have that...

They about it this way women are superior anything that can bleed for up to 7 days and not die has got to be superior...

rapid inital weight loss is the norm for induction as you have now depleted your glycogen stores and are now working on your Fat stores which don't have any fluids stored with them so the inches wil be large but the scalemovements will be smaller from now on.

          Happy low carbing.

            Congrats on the 10 pounds!

Stupid scales, hey? I was weighing at my doctors office, and then because my work schedule changed I had to get my own scale so I could weigh at home. They're a little different, so I'm a bit in the dark as to what my actual weight is, but at least I can tell if I'm going up or down...the actual number isn't as important as inches lost anyway.

Take a moment and read this sticky about the nature of weight loss

I know men lose faster than women, but you're bound to run into the same phenomenon as mentioned in the sticky.

            All the best to you!!
