Ive done the Atkins style diet before and have had good success. This time when I started (2 days ago) I have put on approx 6 lbs from my starting weight. I have monitored what I eat very closely and have not had anything except some steaks(plain), some cheeseburgers minus the bun, beefsticks( less than one carb per stick), eggs, and string cheese. I have only drank water (lots of it at that) and had a couple diet cokes with splenda. I dont remember doing this the last time I went on the diet, but maybe I just didnt notice it. Is this normal or do I need to change something?

. Georgiana's 100% correct, there is absolutely no reason to restrict yourself to chicken, eggs, and salad, you CAN have all those mentioned and more. It's just been my experience that most people I've directed to Atkins don't read the book, and when you get into counting veggies, they consider it a hassle and quit. If they start out simple, they get psyched with the immediate results, and then start to "realize" all the other things they can have, making that much better. My post was meant with good intent, and I apologize if it came across wrong.
