...just got back from a dear friend of mine's wedding. It was FANTABULOUS! The ceremony was in the shade, so it wasn't too hot. Cocktails and h'ordeurves (sp?) were served afterward, then we went into the banquet hall and started our meal!
Here's the menu they served:
On the Patio:
Crab Cakes
Egg Rolls
Somosas
Cheese Balls
Alcohol
In the Banquet Hall
Starter: Mozzarella Cheese, pastrami, red cabbage leaf with pickled cabbage and celery
Salad: Caesar Salad with TONNES of dressing, bacon bits, and croutons
Pasta: Two types of pasta - penne and tortelinni
Main Course: Two Chicken Breasts in a butter sauce, large potatoe wedges, and yellow and green beans.
Dessert: Large Waffle Cup filled with chocolate ice cream, topped with whipped cream and drizzled with strawberry sauce.
So - Day 13 of Induction - wanna know how I did?
I had NO appetizers, NO alcohol, and asked for water instead. Even though the servers kept coming by every 5 minutes asking if we wanted food, I stayed diligent and kept saying No Thank You.
For the meal - I ate the pastrami and cheese, and left the weird cabbage concoction because I wasn't sure about how it would taste - I know I can EAT cabbage, but I was trying to be selective with how MANY vegetables I ate since I only had room for 1 more cup. Then the salad came, I picked around the croutons and scraped off as much caesar dressing as I could. The Pasta came around, and I just turned my chair away from the table and paid attention to the speeches that were going on. The main course arrived, and I gobbled up all my chicken, but because I'd just eaten my third cup of lettuce, I was done veggies for the day so had to leave the string beans alone. I threw my potatoes onto my husbands plate as well. Then he got full and I got to eat his chicken too, lol. Then dessert came - by that time, half the table knew what I was doing, so one offered to take mine for me to split between her and her boyfriend, and I happily obliged.
I think I did FANTASTIC! I was so proud of myself - though I think a lot of that had to do with the fact I weighed in this morning and I've lost a grand total of 15 lbs! I will definitely be recording probably an overage of how much caesar dressing I ingested, but I think I did great all things considering.
Anyway - that is my first experience eating away from home where I don't have a choice as to what's served in front of me.
However - I do have a choice as to what I eat.
Thank you and goodnight!
