Just to defend us. I can see we come across a little harsh sometimes. You have to forgive us. But we really believe in what we are doing. We believe Atkins is healthy and balanced and we believe eating vegetables is good for us and we all intend to eat plenty of veggies for the rest of our lives. Most of us have done this for years, kept our weights off, exercise and love life. We also would love for other people to find their way to a healthy and sustainable way of eating. So that is why we do what we do and why we say what we say.
    Hope that helps

I'm sorry for having made you feel uncomfortable. I believe understanding why you have been "on and off" Atkins for "many, many years" is important for breaking the cycle. But I see you do not want to break it, so please ignore my previous advice.

Also, as I have written before, it is difficult to follow Atkins correctly while eating only three vegetables. However, this does not seem to be your concern. When I wrote my previous reply, I was not aware of your willingly wrong approach to Atkins.

Have you tried Hollandaise sauce? I was put off by the thought of all that butter but I made it with half the butter and it was delicious. Very lemony and thick like custard, and it must have tons of calories. Wonderful on celery

It's the last recipe in this list:

Sometimes veggies can be made more palatable by adding a sauce. the hollandaise one Rosie mentioned would be good or try making a cheese sauce
The one I use is very simple and is just 2 ounces of grated cheese, 1/2 ounce of cream cheese plus 1 ounce of double cream (heavy cream in USA) melted together so adds a good number of calories along with the delicious taste which could 'mask' most vegetable flavours.

And as Carole suggested, you can 'sneak' veggies into other dishes too. I often use my slowcooker to cook meats, and lay some chopped veggies like celery or onions on the bottom of the dish then put the meat on top with a little added water or stock. After a day's cooking the veggies are all soft and imbued with the meat flavours and can be eaten as a side dish or wizzed in a food processor to make a yummy 'sauce' (add cream and butter to up the calories and flavour) or add water to make soup.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Unlike other sites who will advise Inductionees "yeah, it's okay for you to have a couple of beers while on Induction. I drink it all the time and my weight loss hasn't suffered!", we follow the book around here. So in that regard we are tough.

However, posters might feel more comfortable if only the questions asked are addressed. I'm not quite sure how questioning my statements helps me? Especially when they're not related to the subject of my post? I could list all the times I've done Atkins, for how long, how much weight I lost - I'm not quite sure what that has to do with asking about creative ways to increase calories during induction?
Actually the questions asked are relevant to your primary issue. It gives us a better idea of what exactly is wrong and that allows us to directly address your problem better and more meaningfully.

As for your initial question, since Induction is a minimum of 14 days, eating your limited menu shouldn't be terribly hard to do. So on Day 15, you should move to OWL Phase and progress through the Diet as Dr. Atkins wrote.

This is for any newbie who is reading this thread, so please ampa don't think this is directed to you. It is a BIG LIE and a HUGE ERROR to believe that Induction is the entire Atkins Diet and/or you need to stay on Induction Phase in order to lose weight. This is not so. By using Induction as your primary weight loss phase, you are cheating yourself out of a greater variety of food AND you are cheating yourself out of knowledge about how your body reacts to food. The latter might not seem like a big deal to you now, but it will when (if) you get to your goal weight and you don't know how to keep off the pounds.

So if you are having problems with the Induction menu, stay on Induction for 14 Days then move to OWL Phase.
