    >>3 carb per tablespoon... just called my husband at home, he said ingredients are tomato paste, water, glucose/fructose, white vinegar, salt, spice extractives.... no good???>>

    Absolutely no good.

i will make my own low carb tomorrow.. thanks

i read in atkins, anything ending in -ose is no good...sucrolose, fructose etc.

this is really putting into perspective how people who think they honestly stuck to the induction rules have a failed induction...i would have flunked out long ago if it wasnt for your great advice ladies. again, from the bottom of my cubby belly..thanks

Sucralose is fine ... it's Splenda.

        Sucrose is bad ... sugar.

Cellulose is fine ... it's not a sugar (Cellulose - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

Don't know if it's available in Canada, but Heinz makes a low carb ketchup ... the sweetener is sucralose (Splenda). It's called "Low Calorie" I think.

          Re: day 2- down 1.3lbs

i've been looking on the shelves for low carb by heinz (my favourite ketchup maker in the whole wide world!!), for quite some time now, but havent foud it. maybe i'll check online and see...if it really tastes like heinz though, im probably better off to avoid it. i did make low carb ketchup before, and it wasnt too bad.. but im thinking if i can get low carb that lasts in the fridge longer than homemade, it might be a good idea to switch the kids and hubby over. maybe i'll order it online if i can.

          thanks again

Yeah you probably have to get the splenda Heinz from a speciality store here in Canada. There are some sugar free stores around. And in Ontario there is the low carb grocery. If you are not close to them - you can order from them.
I have decided that ketchup is a vegetable

A friend of mine in Canada tells me she can find a low carb ketchup (store brand) at Zehrs or Super store ... it's just not Heinz. And it comes in larger bottles.
