i bought carnation in a can, found it in the bakin isle, i bougt it at metro....it's available in alot of places. English people eat it as well. it's sold at zehrs as well.

i looked for jicama at metro (formerly a&p) as well, and they dont carry it.

Like, regular Carnation Evaporated Milk? My father worked for them when I was little (many, many, moons ago) so we grew up with "cream" on our morning oatmeal, lol.

no it's carnation cream, it's about 1/4 the height of the can of evaporated milk can, and costs about 50 cents more. it was called sterilized cream thick cream

where do you live? did you check the baking isle near the dream whip and stuff?

Yes, I'm afraid I'm at least 90 minutes from any major centre with stores like Loblaws, Safeway, etc. There is a big Independent in Hanover so I'll check there next time I'm over. Oh, Bruce County (Deer hunting season, right now.)

Well, think I'll join my DH in the den. I keep trying to talk him into getting a laptop so I can join him while I check out posts and recipes, so far, my pleas have fallen on deaf ears, lol. Have a great Sunday Tracy,

she's trying to find the cans of carnation real cream..it will probably be in the baking isle. it's called sterilized cream...there is a link to it a little further up

i went to costco myself today and found whipping cream that contains cellulose. woohooo!!!!!!!11111 it's sealtest brand

But don't we all have to go shopping? I like to do my shopping every two weeks and either go to Sam's Club or Costco. I actually feel empowered instead of overwhelmed with temptation. I am the one controlling the ingredients now. That is all I have to remember.
