Ok, I have been on induction since Monday. (really Saturday, but I was messing around with it till I got serious on Moday morning) I have lost 4 to 5 lbs this week already. I'll probably want to go extended as I have 100lbs to lose, and the diet is agreeing with me.
I think I am doing ok based on my results:
1. 4 to 5 lbs this week
2. I have V8, CranApple, and Pink lemonade (all 3 which I LOVE) in the fridge. The first couple days, (ie the weekend) I was wanting them bad. After that, the cravings subsided. As a satellite installer, grabbing gas station food and fast food between jobs is one main reason I am in this position. The desire to make those stops have subsided as well. My appetite has also taken a nose dive compared my usual see-food-diet.
At first, I was cooking only meat, so I was making more than usual. But I found myself making too much and gorging instead of simply stopping when satisfied. I have corrected that.
A typical day now is 3 eggs, 6-8 peices of bacon (I always cut the packs in half, I dont like long strips) for breakfast. And a 32oz glass of that nasty clear stuff from the sink. If I finish that, I try to put down another half glass b4 running out the door. I make 1 large can tuna into tuna salad, (2tbsp mayo, 1/4 white onion,1 jalapeno, 1tbsp relish) and put 3 dill spears on top. That'll be lunch. For a snack (to keep me away from the gas stations when the tummy rumbles) I put together some slices of block cheese, (jal jack, or chedder) and either sliced summer sausage or today was some block ham I cut into strips to make good finger food. I bought a armrest 12V fridge to put stuff in. I also have a 64oz cup that I am keeping ice water in instead of my usual diet soda. When I get home, (I am actually not that hungry) I make myself a couple pork chops, or a steak, and of course more damn water.
Ok, I know I should have some veggies. Gonna work on that. I also realize that some stuff I mentioned can have hidden carbs. Like the summer sausage. It says 0 carbs, but has Dextrose in the ingedients. Can I assume the hidden carbs is less than 1 or it should be on the label? Basically my rule is if it even says <1g carb, I put it back on the shelf. My line of thinking is if I aim for zero, (which I know is impossible) then the hiddens shouldnt knock me anywhere near 20 in a day.
I am being bad on the aspartame front. I LOVE diet soda. And it's a convenience, being that I can get it anywhere, and my job is to roam the earth in search of people with no TV. I have cut down considerably just in the nature of upping my water intake, but I still occasionally fill that 64oz cup with diet coke instead of water. Is that gonna kill this? I know it's not recomended, but is it a mortal atkins sin? What about the caffeine?
I have more questions I cant think of right this second. I guess my bottom line is, this seems to be generally agreeing with me. With the mobile fridge, I can finally make being on the road work for me. I am a carnivore, I love meat. I think I could do this successfully for a long period of time. (even though I may need a few tweaks here and there)
Any thoughts on my questions, or OMGs to something I'm screwing the pooch on? Am I at least facing Mecca?
