    Re: Gaining weight!

    >>Mixed greens 250g>>

This seems to be all the vegetables you're eating?

    That's nowhere near enough vegetables.

MOST of your daily net carbs should be from Induction vegetables.

And ... at the risk of being indelicate ... when was the last time you pooped?

More fiber-rich vegetables, a fiber supplement (flax, psyllium husks or wheat bran), water and exercise will help.

Are you able to find flax where you live? You could use it in MiM's, pancakes or crackers.

for some reason i thought i can only eat 250g veggie a day
Um... nope. 250 g of vegetables can be 2.2 net carbs (total carbs minus dietary fiber) from romaine lettuce or 19.2 net carbs from onion, assuming you measure them raw. We are counting net carbs on Atkins, not grams of vegetables.

how much can I eat exactly?
During Induction, you should eat no more than 20 net carbs, with the majority of these coming from vegetables. There is no reason why you should restrict yourself to 5 or whatever net carbs; you are only cheating yourself of nutrition. In my opinion, it is best to aim for 20 net carbs.

i check the Homel corned beef, there is no sugar
Oh, okay then. On their website there is sugar listed among the ingredients in corned beef, which is why I said there is sugar.

How much water should I drink?
Many people do well drinking half their body weight in ounces. You wrote you weigh 200 lbs, so that's 100 oz of water daily. Tea, coffee, sodas, etc. don't count as water. It's only water that counts.

Do you have a copy of Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution (2002)?

          Re: Gaining weight!

I have gained almost ten pounds the last few months during the time of my period. Now I used to only get it whenever.... but starting this woe has made it regular. The weight disappears at the end of my period. So really in reality stick to it...you could have lost weight and what you have gained is water weight and bloating from your pms, and afterwards you will be drastically down. Wait it out and see, you just might be surprised!

          highest weight 360lbs
          started atkins 315lbs
          current weight 295lbs
          first mini goal 275
          second goal 250

          Induction started Sept 30/09

Going to succeed, one day at a time!!!!!!!

                Re: Gaining weight!

If you use flax meal, make sure you drink plenty of water. Otherwise it might have the opposite effect!
