  • White wine on the 3rd day - irreversible damage?

    OK, I'll make it quick.
Before going out to a dinner party I checked that there's only a few carbs in dry white wine, so I had a glass (200 ml) of that. Did not exeed the 20 gr that day, +went out to dance, drank lots of water and lost a pound.
But the next morning I found out that alcohol is out of the question during the induction. Oops. . So, this wine, did it to any irreversible damage to the diet or is there still hope that if I avoid all the bad things from now on, I can still go on as if nothing happened?

And if I happen to live in a country where they don't use Splenda, can I still have a Diet Coke every now and then or should I just stay away from everything sweetened?

No, of course not. Just live and learn and avoid it in the future (until the appropriate rung of OWL of course)! All it will do is delay your weight loss for a few days.

Atkins is something you learn over time... no worries.

I have Diet Coke with aspertame once in a while and I have noticed no ill effects. Others will say differently (as did Dr. Atkins himself) and your mileage will vary.

You "can" have whatever you want ...

How having "sweet" will help you ... that's the question!

Haha, atkinsgal08, that's a good reply for a stupid question.
And thanks, Skeptika23, I'll just know better next time then!

Many people who try Atkins and fail haven't read DANDR 2002. They miss the point of Induction. It is plan constructed to "kick start" the plan including detoxing from sweets and carbs, getting rid of sweet cravings, educating ourselves to understand Atkins, learning what we can and can't eat.

Don't kid yourself into believing that everyone can eat sweet tasting stuff and get rid of the cravings regardless of whether it is Splenda or not. The best way to overcome the physical cravings is to drink water and avoid sweet tasting Frankenfoods that you think help you. They don't.

When you are alone in your head, you are in a bad neighborhood.
