      Bye bye habits

Hey Jetta, congratulations on staying open to change.
It takes great personal courage to undo embedded belief systems...you sound like you are ever more mindful of the DANDR and on your way.

For induction - Lots of debate about this, but I personally, paid no attention to calories at all. I faithfully counted my carbs. I don't know how many calories you can eat a day and still lose weight. It is probably an individual number.

But I think quality versus quantity is a better place to put your focus.
More is less when you eat quality meats, cheeses, eggs and veggies.

But do eat. Never go hungry again.

This was a typical induction day for me - i always based my menu
on the foods I really like. I like raw veggies more than cooked.
Some people are the opposite. Fix it the way you like it!

Ham and 2 scrambled Eggs with 1 ounce of melted cheese
      1/2 cup mushrooms
1 cup decaf, 1 stevia, 1/2 tbsp of cream
      water

      2 Pork Chops
      1 cup of raw veggies
1 mock danish with 1 ounce of cream cheese
      water

      Dinner:
Crab Quiche with 2 ounces of cheese (2 slices - about 1 cup)
      1/2 cup broccolli
1 cup decaf, 1 stevia, 1/2 tbsp of cream
      water

      Snacks:
any kind of meat of fish
      1 cup raw veggies
10 olives or 1/2 avacado (not everyday)

Record your menu faithfully in FitDay and you will soon get the hang of it.

Be mindful of your hunger. If we are full - why do we keep eating?
Food is fuel. If the tank is full why keep pumping the gas?

Also, induction has specific limits set regarding veggies. If you follow those limits you will find yourself naturally adapting to the right amount of food. Veggies are wonderful and essential but they do have carbs. So you must be careful to stick to the specified limits. Think about what satisfies you. Pick the food that is most tasty to you.

I don't find lettuce that tasty. So I chose small pieces of raw celery, jicama, radishes, and turnips as my crunchy food for the day. i adore mushrooms, and broccolli, so I would have a 1/2 cup of them per day along with the raw veggies.

      Vegetables
You can have two to three cups per day of:

      alfalfa sprouts
      daikon
      mushrooms
      arugula
      endive
      parsley
      bok choy
      escarole
      peppers
      celery
      fennel
      radicchio
      chicory
      jicama
      radishes
      chives
      lettuce
      romaine lettuce
      cucumber
      mâche
      sorrel

      Other Vegetables
You can have one cup per day of these veggies if salad does not exceed two cups. The following vegetables are slightly higher in carbohydrate content than the salad vegetables:

      artichoke
      celery root
      pumpkin
      artichoke hearts
      rhubarb
      asparagus
      chard
      sauerkraut
      bamboo shoots
      collard greens
      scallions
      dandelion
      snow peas
      bean sprouts
      dandelion greens
      spaghetti squash
      beet greens
      eggplant
      spinach
      broccoli
      hearts of palm
      string or wax beans
      broccoli rabe
      kale
      summer squash
      brussels
      kohlrabi
      tomato
      bean sprouts
      leeks
      turnips
      cabbage
      okra
      water chestnuts
      cauliflower
      onion
      zucchini

Now is the time to become obsessed with low carb cooking.
There are numerous resources on cable, online and on the bookshelf.
Suffering is necessary until you realize it is unnecessary. Eckhart Tolle

Jetta, If I recall I read that you posted that you keep starting over and over on induction because you keep falling off. How far have you made it on a clean induction? Maybe you should examine WHY and What triggers your fall. Maybe, make a goal to make it past 1 day from the longest point of time that you have stayed on a clean induction??? Then, take it one day at a time, one tiny step forward each day. When that urge hits you to eat something you know is not on your induction plan, tell yourself you will have it tomarrow, and see if you can make it past that rough time. I, too, am struggling, but each day, when the weakness hits, I just tell myself to push thru til tomorroq. And so far, I have found, when tomorrow arrives, I have the strength to push thru yet another day.
I am rooting for ya! :yes

Never give up, if you have no goal you shall surely reach it.
