    Re: any "free foods"?

i couldn't figure out how to post a siggy so i put it in my bio instead. you're a bully and a know-it-all and this is harassment. you're stalking me around the board playing nursing police..if my doctor is ok with me doing this diet (darn it, it was his idea in the first place! dr. barry buls. look him up if you don't believe me) its not your place to pressure me to do otherwise. now back off. i will no longer react or respond to any of your posts regarding nursing. this thread is about hunger management on induction.
i'm 25 years old, mom of two, ready to do this once and for all!
note: i am breast-feeding, though my baby is nearly weaned, eating most solid food now. i am doing this diet with the knowledge, approval, and at the suggestion of my doctor and having done my homework. i will not discuss the matter in any of my posts. please don't bring it up.

      Few people read that.

And some people may choose not to advise you about Induction.

if my doctor is ok with me doing this diet
No one said you shouldn't do Atkins. Atkins is not only Induction.

And if your doctor is okay with you doing Induction while breastfeeding, then it's your doctor who should give you diet advice. It's irresponsible for us to do it when Dr. Atkins wrote that none of the weight loss phases of Atkins is appropriate for breastfeeding mothers.

We can argue on ideas... we can discuss Atkins all day long... but no personal attacks please.

You can add people to your ignore list if you don't want to see their posts and receive PM's from them. To edit your ignore list, go to User CP and under "Settings & Options" you'll find "Edit Ignore List".

no personal attacks? i am being followed around the board by a member on a crusade to save my poor baby from her evil mother, having my every thread hijacked and being told by a complete stranger that she knows better than me and my doctor what is best for my child. is that not personal? and i can do little about it because the moderator is often two steps behind ready to back her up.
i'd appreciate a little help here from someone in a position to get her off my case.
my doctor isn't available all the time and he charges for his advice. he can't give me recipes either.
he does know i'm on induction. he knows i am doing it for the purposes of losing weight. he knows i am breastfeeding.

The advice you receive about breastfeeding is not J.'s personal opinion or mine. It's Dr. Atkins'.

              is that not personal?
No. You might not like the advice... but it is discussing the Atkins diet and is backed up by the book. However, addressing defamatory statements to another member is personal.

i can do little about it
No one can stop another member from giving advice from DANDR.

the moderator is often two steps behind ready to back her up
What I am backing up here is Dr. Atkins' advice regarding breastfeeding and Induction.

i'd appreciate a little help here from someone in a position to get her off my case
You can get anyone "off your case" by adding them to your ignore list. Please use that list. It's best for everybody.

                  Re: any "free foods"?

And since this thread is heading south...

We're all informed now by the OP's signature that she chooses to ignore Dr. Atkins' advice about breastfeeding and Induction, so no one is mislead to advise her about the weight loss phases of Atkins if one's policy is to not reply to breastfeeding mothers to questions concerning Induction, OWL and Pre-Maintenance. I think we all realize that regardless of what we write in the forums, it will not stop tweedledee from following Induction... so it's only a waste of time trying to convince her otherwise. If any of us disagrees with her decision and prefers not to reply to her Induction questions, I suggest we just pass them by. I'm sure there are also people who don't mind giving her the kind of help she's looking for.

Now let's try to keep this thread on the floating line, okay?

tweedledee, don't worry about such things. I am sure no one here would think that.

How many calories are in that menu you posted? To me, it doesn't look as if there are a lot.

3 egg omlet with mozarella or kashkaval cheese wit pepper and cucumber strips, coffee with cream.

poached egg with half a green pepper
                        or
                        string cheese

plate of salad. can of tuna and 1 oz of cheese with grapeseed oil and lemon juice or lox with cream cheese and alfalfa sprouts

                        broccoli with melted cheese

or talapia in butter and spices with fried jicama

induction friendly cheesecake with 2 tbsp whippedcream.

                        pot roast with green pepper
How big is a 'plate of salad'?...if u like lettuce u can eat tons of it, u can add Olive Oil (or any oil that u like) to the salad, or make a mayo based salad dressing - lots of it and use the leftovers to dip celery or cucmber sticks into.
Do u sautee that broccoli? it will add fat and flavor too.

Do u add mayo to your tuna? u can add lots of mayo or if you prefer add oil. I believe canned salmon is less expensive than fresh and this may be a good alternative if u get tired of tuna. Also things like sardines are ok ( in oil, careful if it's in anything else...maybe the tomato sauce kind is ok - i don't eat this sort of thing but DH does, anyway we're not in the US so i don't know the actual carb counts on this stuff, if you like this> figure it out the next time you are in the supermarket)
You can also eat a four egg omlet, this will increase protein and fat too, personally, eggs make me feel very full.>>>> consider making egg salad or deviled eggs to snack on esp after meat, if u find sugar free salami or cold cuts u can snack on that after meat too.

Other non dairy/non meat snacks could be: Sautee some veggies in oil esp very low carb ones like mushrooms, peppers of all colors, even cabbage, maybe zucchinni, add diced onions, minced garlic to add flavor and of course seasonings. Also u can make your own coleslaw to snack on ( most prepared coleslaw has sugar - to offset the bitterness in cabbage >> replace w/ a sm amt of sugar substitute) and u can 'slaw' any vegetable, cabbage + onions is fine and traditional, but Broccolli 'slaw' or cauliflower slaw is great too, use scallions to reduce the somewhat carby onions>>> I highly reccomend Broc Slaw w/ finely diced red pepper and chives or scallions, a touch of garlic and use a regular coleslaw derssing recipe substituting the sugar of course. (if u need a dressing recipe let me know)

Basically it sounds like you need 2 bump up the oil and mayo consumption to increase your fat intake, look for creative ways to do this. Sautee chickenin oil and /or pour oil over chicken parts if u bake it in the oven. Altho butter is rich and delicious, i find that i almost never use it, so Atkins is not just about butter and if you see a meat recipe calling for butter use Olive oil instead, also u can ofter use chicken instead of pork.
