  • Diet Query - a bit lethargic with eating foods.

I'm a bit worried about being nutritionally sound.. I'm not a big meat eater, and lately I've been shying away from veggies too. I dont know why - before induction I loved them. Any advice what I should add.. I'm a pretty lame cooker, and just like the basics.

    Breakfast:

An Omlet w/ 2eggs, a bit of cheese and 2oz of mushroom. I have a coffee, no milk

    Lunch:

Salad with blue cheese and parmasen, my dad, who is on Atkins too makes it for me.. he adds olives and tomatoes but since about day 4 all I've been able stomach has been the salad and cheese - I have no idea why, its all I feel like.

    Dinner:

Another similar salad, with about 4oz of fish.

I drink TONNES of water and have read the book.

I'm on about day 11, and have gone from: 160.6 to 149.6

    Thanks.

The lethargy could be from not enough vegetable carbs and not enough protein.

How much exactly is "tonnes" of water.

You may add any food from the Acceptable Foods List: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...induction.html

      It depends what you like.

How many grams of protein are you consuming?

      How many calories?

How many net carbs? Are over half of your net carbs coming from vegetables?

That does not look like enough food. I think I'd die if that was all I ate (just kidding, I just love food)...but no wonder you're feeling tired. Where's the fat in there? and protein? 2 eggs and 4 oz of fish doesn't seem like that's enough, especially if your body is used to having more than that.

Do you feel like you're eating enough? Do you feel satiated or hungry? Follow the cues your body is giving you...unless it says "eat this bag of cheeto's" and I think the tiredness is it's way of telling you "feed me."

Dr Atkins referred to what he called 'ascent weakness' in the first few days of induction, and suggested adding extra veggies to the allowed 3 cups to counteract this.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
