  • who wants a chicken burger?!!! i just had one...mmm

using cleo's "oopsies roll" recipe ... it actually held on pretty good... i'm quite impressed..thanks cleo one thing i did do after taking them out of the oven is toast them a bit just because the bottom was still a little moist.

link: The Lighter Side of Low-Carb: Gluten-free, low-carb buns (aka Oopsie rolls)

then i just panfried some chicken breast, added mayo, lettuce, tomato and a few onions... i was so excited to eat it i forgot to add a little cheese
i wish i took pics before i ate them... i will make again for sure!!!

    you must try

LOL, toasting the oopies sounds like a great idea. Mine were a little soft also. Cleo got really adventurous with them, I think she did everything including waffles.

But having something to hold in your hands like a burger, just puts a smile on your face.

It will work without the cream of tartar. I forgot to add it one time and they turned out the same as with it in.

Re: who wants a chicken burger?!!! i just had one...mmm

I copied a tip from not2late (thanks Megs ) for making Revolution rolls more 'bready' in consistency by cooking in the microwave instead of the oven. AS Cleo's oopsies are made in a similar way but using twice as much cream cheese it might work for her recipe too.

I used 1/3 of the recipe and piled it into one big bun and cooked it for a couple of minutes or so. You need to use only 1/3 of the recipe (1 egg, 1T cream cheese or mayonnaise + the cream of tartar if you have it) so it sits in the centre of the microwave turntable and cooks evenly.

It makes a good sized bun which could be split to hold a burger.

                    Hi Sirine,

It is best to let the rolls sit for a while on a cooling rack after you remove them from the baking sheet...they will dry out on their own after awhile.
Yes, they will be too soft and probably still to moist to enjoy if you try to eat them too soon after baking. They will change their consistency on their own.

I know...they are too yummy to wait!

                            Sirine,

I think I will try the microwave version soon.

Interesting, my post from this afternoon showed up twice.

I always have that problem when the server gets too busy.
