As Liv said, the UK editors tried to make things easier for us who don't use the USA 'cup' measurement on the whole by converting the veg amounts to ounces/grams. However they didn't realise that though an american 'cup' = 8 ounces it equals 8 fluid ounces (237 mls) not 8 weight ounces (227 grams).
