    Thank you. I really do appreciate the suggestions/help, because I'm really trying hard to do this right. It was very upsetting that the first person that responded attacked me (seriously). I'm going to read up on this, but until then... I'm going to sound stupid, but help me understand. I need to consume more fat? I'm going to try some of those recipes, for sure!

      Some of the info on the Atkins Nutritional website is not the same as in the 2002 Book by Dr Atkins. The company is now in the mindset of selling a lot of products more than following the plan as it was laid out by the Doctor.
      They tell you to eat bars and shakes in Induction, yet they contain ingredients that are not allowed on Induction.

      Read the links I sent you until you get the book. You can get that book online for under $5., just do a google search.

      Forget about TOM, it comes and goes every month. Just accept that and follow the plan. It is not how much you lose every day or even every week. It is a long term thing. Just stick to it, don't worry about the scale. WE all jump on it every 5 minutes when we start...LOL...but then we learn it all evens out in the long run. If you have a salty meal one day your weight can go up 5# the next day and stay there, then 2 days later go away. It does not mean you gained and lost 5# of fat.

        I got on an internet forum for help. I understand I asked for criticism, but I didn't ask for it in that manner. FYI - I "ignored" or whatever the person that was being rather rude. If that's how this stuff is, then I don't want the help. It seems anyone but her has been nothing but helpful and nice to me. I sincerely appreciate the help in that way. Pag - I TOTALLY see what you're saying! Thanks for showing that to me.. I forgot to mention, since you said energy drinks.. I take a B vitamin everyday.. that doesn't effect anything does it? Of course, at night, I also take a multivitamin as well. I will definitely get the book.. I was just going off of what friends were saying.. I don't buy any of the Atkins products, regardless of what the site says.

                Ellers - it is tough on these forums sometimes and I felt kind of attacked when I asked my first question on this forum as well. But I was probably a bit sensitive. Weight and diet are very personal to us.

                        While that's certainly your choice, you might want to rethink your actions. Perhaps that person has something to offer ... and you might be cutting off your nose to spite your face. Help comes in strange ways. Perhaps your definition of "rude" needs some work, too?

                            I believe that people need to choose their words more carefully. Most/Some people don't know how to communicate effectively, not saying that I do, just an opinion. Sure, she may have help for me, but when I post a question, and she wants to be rude, I do have the right to "ignore" it. Now, if you don't have anything nice to say, anything encouraging, or something related to the diet then please don't respond.

                              first off even though you did it wrong you shed body fat and are at the place were regardless of what eating and exercise plan you are doing the human body will take a scale weight loss pause.
                              Atkinseers call it PISS but it is temp and you will resume losing weight so take a deep breath and relax a bit.
                              I hope you have been measuring so you will be able during this PISS phase to see that your body is actually shedding body fat but lean body additions are masking those scale number losses.

                              you have lost over 16% of your neded to shed pounds for somebody who was over 300 pounds to start like me that would have been over 52 pounds!

                              Just think how well you will be doing when you tweak your hearsay Atkins with the real by the book atkins.

                              Since you are working out which is mandatory on atkins you have got at least 1/2 the plan right Your foundation may be a bit shakey but you still have time to fix it before it falls down around you. 3 cups of those legal veggies each day is a priorityas at least 1/2 our daily carbs have to come from them during induction and 20 netgrams of carbs is the max you can have. There are no limits on fats and proteins as your hunger should didctate how much of that you consume, but you should be eating about 65% of your total cals as fats and 30% as proteins.

                              Now you need on day 15 to move to the OWL phase so you can build your House of atkins to be completed by the time you get to goal weight and are ready to move in.

                                IMHO people need more hugs than criticism, so i'm sending u some {{{Hugs}}}. You're a few pounds lighter than u were two weeks ago which is WONDERFUL progress and although we are all different, 4 me at least, TOM interfes in a major way and i usually lose a lot just after TOM.

                                Since u are working out u should measure yourself and compare inches lost because this is weight loss too, the numbers measured are often more relevant and definately more encouraging 4 some of us than the numbers on the scale.

                                Some factors that mess up the numbers on the scale include salt intake, various medications, and of course our dear friend TOM (guys seem 2 lose weight so much faster and at a more even pace since they don't have to deal w/ hormone fluctuations throughout the month...not fair!)

                                Even if you are sensitive to salt, have medications that may slow you down and/or TOM gets in the way YOU WILL STILL probably LOSE weight on ATKINS it just may not show up on the scale as soon as you would like, so look 4 progress in other ways ( loose fitting clothing, inches lost, great energy and better stamina).

                                Try 2 experiment w/ new vegetables. Almost anything tastes good w/ a creamy or cheesy sauce, add sauteed onions and fresh tomatoes to your meats, omlets etc. You really should have 3 cups of vegetables per day and although most of us, esp the purists among us believe that it should happen from day 1, indeed this is an important factor in losing on Atkins, if you are not 'there' yet in terms of vegetables>>> attempt 2 progress to getting 'there' at your pace becaue it will have a positive effect on your success on Atkins!

                                Come to the board 4 support, it makes a huge difference, and try to value the advice given without getting stuck in the tone of the writer...the info and willingness to help is really awesome. and as w/ any advice, u can take it or leave it. Happy weightloss!!!
