  • End of Induction today!!

    Hello everyone,

Just wanted to fill you in on my induction results............darn I wish there was a drum roll anyway I cannot believe the results..I am down 1 stone (14Lbs) I am beyond gobsmacked in fact, my gob has never been so smacked, I am over the moon. I did it by the book (cups not weights as in my UK version) happily drank 100 0Z water a day and have enjoyed eating Chicken in a butter sauce, steak, bacon & eggs, lots of different veggies...DIET?? SCHMIET!!!

Anyway I am now moving onto OWL 1 as the only thing I really do miss is fruit, so the sooner I start learning about OWL the sooner I can have a few strawberries etc.

I know I have a lot of thinking and work coming up though as I am off to Egypt on March 1st (big birthday ahem) and I am not really sure how Atkins freindly Egypt will be but I am determined o stick with it as much as I can...no way am I going to mess this up I feel to good.

Anyway folks thanks for reading and if anyone has any Atkins/Egypt friendly tips I would be most grateful.

    Bye for now

    Deborah x

      Hi Deborah

      Well doneYou must feel brilliant.

I have been to Egypt a few times, and although I was not on atkins at the time, you do have a choice of different types of fish and meats. What they marinate them in I do not know, but i am sure they could accomodate you.

      Lo

Not Atkins Egypt tips from me. But doing your best and not going over board with anything usually works very well. Stay busy and have fun. Moving to OWL will be a help as you will have a lot more choices.

Super congrats on your result. Way to go.
And see you in the OWL forum

congrats on yur great start. remeber to check your inches as scale weight hesitation is common around week 3-4 but we continue to see inches of body fat being shed.

Enjoy your additional 5 net grams of veggies.

I hope my weight loss isn't just water loss. Onefifty, I noticed you and I have the same goal! I am trying to make the revolution rolls today. I'm going to see if that helps the constant thoughts about eating a bagel or bread. I need something besides lettuce to wrap my sandwich in. I'm also going to try the wrap.

Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

                  Re: End of Induction today!!

                  Thanks everyone

Onefifty.....all I can say to you is try and not weigh yourself until day 15 I am not saying it was easy for me to do that but I did and who knows if I had stepped on the scales on day 5 and saw no weight loss I may have well become despondent and given up...you see, I have no idea when I lost this weight: day 3, day 8, day 1, day 14??? who knows, so you may well start to lose suddenly and keep losing from day 6/7 etc so don't get downhearted, & try & keep away from the scales.

                  Bye for now

                  Deborah x

Off on the internet to try & find some foods in Egypt...salad might be a problem as they must have to wash it in their water?? I can't imagine they would use mineral water!

Congratulations on a successful induction phase, and good luck in the next phase! As for Egypt, I havent been there but I do travel often to other Middle Eastern countries. As long as you stay away from the breads and sweets, most other foods are made with whole foods, very little, if any, unnatural food products (very different from Us). Atkins shouldn't be difficult to maintain abroad. Good Luck!
