Good morning,
I fell (actually, I'd say I jumped) off the wagon Saturday night. My family was over and everyone was drinking wine, so I joined right in. Knowing I'd already blown it, I had some tortillas, blackberries, and a few chips, too. The good news is that none of it (except the berries - I really miss fruit) tasted that great and it wasn't worth it. Knowing that, I don't think I'll mess up again. However, I have some questions...
The first week, I lost 8 1/2 pounds. The second week, I didn't lose anything. I'm drinking at least 64 ounces of water a day, but often more. The thing I changed was going from spinach salad at lunch (with eggs and bacon on it in addition to chicken or salmon) to romaine lettuce with no eggs or bacon and protein. I started before I bought the book and realized too late that spinach wasn't on the salad list. So, in trying to follow the book, my weight loss has dropped? Should I go back to the spinach.
This is a sample of what I ate the first week compared to the second week.
2 eggs and 3 bacon for breakfast
2 cups of coffee each with 1 1/2 tbsp of cream and 1 splenda packet
2 cups of spinach with 1/4 cup sliced mushrooms, an egg, 1 slice bacon and a chicken breast or salmon. drizzle with mayo mixed with olive oil
dinner - chicken breast, steak, or salmon with 1 cup of asparagus, cooked with a little olive oil
1 cup of hot tea - no cream or sweetener
Second week:
2 eggs
3 bacon
coffee - same way
lunch:
2 cups of romaine lettuce, 1/4 cup sliced cucumber, piece of chicken or salmon drizzled with olive oil and red wine vinegar
dinner:
ground beef mixed with 1/4 cup of onion, 1/4 cup of bell peppers, 1/2 cup of mushrooms with 2 oz of cheese
cup of hot tea - no cream or sweetener
I started off weighing 177, got down to 168.5, but am back up to 170 today. (Stupid wine)...
Anyway, thanks so much for any advice or thoughts...
Kim
