  • 5 lbs down in 5 days

It's really nothing short of miraculous. It just doesn't make rational sense that I can lose weight without ever being hungry. I have walked about 2 miles/day for the past 3 days. Sample menu (today's):

    2 eggs fried in butter
    3-4 sausages
    coffee w/half&half

chicken salad (large chicken breast, mayo, celery)
    small mixed salad

snacks: 2 cheese sticks; 1/4 cup dry roasted edamame

corned beef & cabbage (of course)

lots of water (about 8 cups)

What's also really cool is that I have so much energy, I don't need my usual afternoon coffee. Not sure if it's ketosis or post-walk endorphin rush. Either way, miraculous - really.

    Very grateful.

    Congratulations on the loss!

    Now ...

Half and half isn't allowed on Induction.

dry roasted edamame isn't on the Induction food list.

    >>(about 8 cups)>>

This probably isn't enough for you ... many find that drinking 1/2 their current weight in ounces of water works. 64 ounces is the MINIMUM on Atkins.

Yeah, I know that I've improvised with the half & half (I can't bring myself to put full cream in my coffee) and the edamame (gotta have some serious crunch sometimes). I'm counting the carbs in both, though. Trying to drink as much water as possible. Will up my intake, thanks.
In the past I've found that these little "customizations" make it easier for me to stick with it longer. If I overdo it, the scale lets me know and I cut back.

Try cucumber, celery. There's lots of crunch on the list of acceptable foods.

And how many times has it been?

I agree with Atkinsgal, try finding something different from the edamame for your 'serious crunch' .
It can be reintroduced on OWL rung 6 (legumes) which will not be very far ahead..
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
