Your math is off. If the egg has 9 grams of total carbohydrate and less than 1 comes from dietary fiber, it means the product has more than 8 net carbs.

It's impossible to have "7.5g of carbs with 8 of those grams be sugar"... because 7.5 is less than 8... so you don't have 8 grams to start with.

It should also be <1 gram of dietary fiber... "<" is less... ">" is more.

I was just trying to understand
So you don't understand why eating a chocolate egg is not okay?

Oh, sorry but I never really anything with sugar in it. I look at the labels and i subtract the total carbs from the diatary fiber and thats how much carbs im really eating, right? (total carbs-fiber = net carbs) Yes, I understand that, I meant how the sugar = net carbs. But like I said i never really had to worry about this so I was just curious...

Just as a note here... what you should try to avoid is added sugar. Naturally occurring sugar, such as that find in tomatoes or cheese, is fine.

Yep. That's the correct way to calculate net carbs.

The confusing thing about 'sugar' on the label is that it could appear in 2 different places
1 Nutrition label - as part of the carbohydrates and could be the natural sugars that all plant materials contain, like tomatoes etc.
          2. Ingredients list - as added sugar.

If sugar is listed as an actual ingredient (or any of its many aliases) then the food is not suitable really for any phase of Atkins
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

            Re: Easter is coming!!

If I had gotten morbidly obese from eating a single piece of chocolate, a single piece of cake, a single piece of pie, a single donut or a single slice of pizza, or drinking a single Margarita or a single glass of beer or a single potato chip than I might indulge. But the truth of the matter is that there are a number of foods that trigger cravings and I've never stopped at a single one of any of them. One bite and there is a giant slippery slope right there ready to send me on the ride of my life. So, for me, it is easier not even to entertain the thought. I like being healthy more than I want to eat junk or junk substitutes. Pass a deviled egg, please!
