    Ames, why do you feel that you need to eat what your partner and friends are eating, instead of eating your Atkins meals?

    You will have to deal with similar situations in the future, and cheating every time is not the healthy way to go.

      well last night i had had a drink or 2 then cravings kicked in. regarding the beans and pringles i just had to eat something as i needed something quick and everything for my atkins diet is frozen alot of the time.

      what kind of drinks are allowed on atkins? any gins, brandys?

        Alcohol isn't allowed until OWL Rung 5.

        I, at almost 50lbs to go, get people saying 'so are you done losing now?'. ???? Umm, no, I'm going all the way!! I didn't do this so I would still be obese!

            As was noted, alcohol is Rung #5 in OWL.

                ok, i''ve definatly lost weight but wii fit says i put 3 pounds on :/ i know i aint be great on induction but i would say first couple of days i was very good. I do find it hard to eat cus my appetite is non exsistant and i have been exercising alot. would this be muscle weight?

                My blokes making me salmon with salad this afternoon and prawns in a small dip

                  "Being good" two days and cheating with alcohol, beans and Pringles the third isn't going to help you achieve your goals. It's just not how Atkins works.

                  No. You don't gain 3 lbs of muscle in 4 days.

                    You know it's my first time on atkins, theres no need to be such an *** about it. it's garlic and mayonnaise dip which he has made me! Plus i have also been told that atkins is the road to eating disorders! and what happens after the 2 weeks intro, and way of eating is it still ban bread, pasta and all the other 'illegal ingredients I might as well just join the pro ana forums cus 2 pringles here and 2 table spoons of beans there at 7 o clock at night after having nothing since breakfast is omg!! i've failed!!!

                      Any diet is "the road to eating disorders" if you keep cheating and not follow it for life. I've seen many people doing Atkins on and off, and what usually happens is that they end up heavier than how they started and with more food control issues.

                      After the first two weeks of Induction, you can either continue with Induction or move to OWL. My recommendation generally is to move to OWL.

                      You will start OWL by adding 5 net carbs worth of vegetables. Then you continue with diary, nuts and seeds, berries and melons, alcohol, legumes, other fruits, starchy vegetables and whole grains.

                      Bread made of grains is allowed once you reach OWL Rung 9. On OWL Rung 3, you can make bread using nuts and seeds. During Induction, you can use flax meal to make a muffin in a minute.

                      Pasta are allowed on OWL Rung 9.

                      Potato chips are allowed on OWL Rung 8. During Induction you can have cheese chips or flax chips instead.

                      Beans are an OWL Rung 6 food. Green beans are allowed on Induction.

                      2 pringles here and 2 table spoons of beans there at 7 o clock at night after having nothing since breakfast is omg!!
                      You should not skip meals. It's the first rule of Induction. If you do not follow this rule and you do skip meals, that is still not an excuse to cheat.

                          Mine can just about reheat something in the microwave, He still uses the wrong dishes though and has just permanently stained one of my favourite storage dishes with his canned tomato soup

                          But after 33 years of marriage I think it is too late to re-train him

                            If you read the book, chapters 12 on will tell you.

                            You didn't "fail" but you made some bad choices.

                            Are you really serious about Atkins or are you just driving by?

                              I don't know how many inches i have lost all i know is around my hips there are stretch marks and i can feel my hip bones and rib bones better lol. i have told my partner i will be getting a tape measure.

                              I am serious just still learning about what i can have and can't, my bloke seems to know more then me! he went m and s and read the carbs for my salmon and i was like :O your better then me lol.

                              Trust me i am serious, i have never been on low carb before so i guess i am doing a trial run before the real thing...i do belive i am more educated now so will give it another go this week.
