    Ground Beef

What kind of ground beef should we buy? Should we buy the leanest or is the 80/20 fine?

I was cooking some patties from 80/20 ground beef and drained some of the fat they released. Is this ok?

Don't buy the leanest. It not only doesn't taste that great, it's not necessary. I buy the 27% fat kind, because that's what is cheapest, and boy, it cooks up into a mean burger!

It's fine to drain the fat.

Some kinds work better for certain recipes.

      There's no required kind.

One of the great moneysaving things about doing Atkins is that the fattier cuts of meat are often cheaper as well as being tastier.
