    Re: Some questions please

I've found Fitday to be invaluable for doing this Way of Eating. Not only does it let me get a good feel for how and what I'm eating, including percentages of fats, proteins and how many net carbs, but it also helps me see what food triggers I might have.

If I'm hungry after a meal, I'll analyze what I'm eating to see if it was due to not eating enough, enough fat, enough veggies, or perhaps I added a new food that triggered the cravings. One of my triggers is also salty foods, which I figured out through Fitday, so thus, I minimize how many of them eat. For the nuts rung, I only eat unroasted/unsalted nuts. No cravings this way. It's also how I found that dairy stalls me, so I limit cheese and have mostly skipped the dairy rung of owl. I track everything, even cheats, as it holds me accountable for how I'm eating and lets me see the impact of what I've done. Thus, I haven't cheated in months because I know it stalls or slows my weight loss.

Find what works for you and helps on with the process. Eating right, lots of veggies, tracking what you eat, drinking lots of water and exercising are all key.

          Re: Some questions please

Firstly I am down to 257.6 after 1 week, for a total of 5.4 pounds.

So for 1 cup of Cauliflower frozen cooked with salt = 5.69, but it says the fiber is 4.9 does that mean I can subtract the fiber from the carbs? If thats the case why only three cups of veggies?? I got this from http://www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/foodcom...st_nut_edit.pl

Last night i made the cauliflower about three cups worth, with one teaspoon splenda some spices and oil, and it seems right now that I am starving! Truthfull the morning and afternoon was ok, Im thinking something triggered it...

For breakfast: 3 slices of swiss chees
lunch- two hamburgers and two cans of tuna with mayo.

Yes, I know I eat like pig.

            Yes.

This isn't eating like a pig.

Where's the vegetables though? It's best to spread them out during all your meals.

Why would you put splenda on cauliflower?

Hi, so thanks again for your support! Basically I have a recipie for califlower popcorn which is actually quite good, and it calls for three packets of splenda, but I used one. I mix salt garlic, onion powder and mustard powder splenda and oil and coat the califlower with it and cook until crunchy. Its quite good.

So if thats the case, why are we limited to three cups of salad on induction if the carbs dont add up to 20? Am I counting wrong?

edit: I usually make a salad and throw meat/ chicken or whatever im having with a nice mayo base dressing for dinner.

It's not 3 cups of "salad" ... it's 2 cups from the first list and one cup from the 2nd list.

You should aim for MOST of your net carbs from Induction vegetables.

Ways to do it and still follow the cups limit can be found here:

I guess my question is, why say three cups, why not say 20 grams of carbs from the veggie list...

For example Romaine is very low carb, and three cups is like 4 grams of carbs.

                    Re: Some questions please

Because it's not 20 carbs from the veggie list. It's "20 net carbs with most of your net carbs coming from veggies".

But yeah, the cups/salad/net carbs thing can be confusing, it just takes practice with trying different combos of veggies.

I have lost about 6ish pounds with day fourteen on tuesday. I am not happy about it, but I have not cheated, and I WILL NOT GIVE UP. My wife, child, and me deserve a happy and healthy person, and I need to really give this a good shot. I can do this.

I do have more energy, and I am feeling better than I was 12 days ago, so Ill take that to the bank.

Six pounds is nothing to sneeze at! Congrats! I am one month in to this WOE and still get confused. My weight loss has been slow, but I figure time will pass anyway. I can be fat a year from now, or smaller and healthier.

Question: The hellmans mayo full fat i have been eating has sugar in the ingrediants as well as lemon juice. Is that affecting my weight loss? It says there are no carbs in it.

so frustrating! I thought mayo was ok!

Because the mayo is so fatty and sugar is so low on the ingredient list we usually think that this is one item that is still OK. There are some sugar free mayos out there like Duke. Or you can make your own using a stick blender - easy piecy.

There are carbs in mayonnaise ... the Atkins carb counter book has it at 0.1 net carbs per Tbs.

It's ok to eat food with carbs -- Atkins isn't a no carb way of eating.
