(was waiting on that).. since I just realized this is the induction forum and not the one above it.... although I still think the bit of pepper on the HOT ones is allowed...

I'm willing go with a little spice and onion powder to be able to stick with this... it's hard enough as it is...

      Add 1 packet of Splenda
      Add cinnamon to taste
Mix well and then add about a handful of crushed pork rinds.
Coat pork rinds with mixture very well. Then eat!

It taste like "cinnamon toast crunch." I know it sounds weird. I was disgusted the first time I read it on this board about a year ago, but ended up pleasantly surprised.

Pork rinds are one of those things that you can dazzle up to go with anything. Have you tried Pork Rind French Toast yet? Absolutely delicious and tastes like the real thing!!! I have that with Atkins syrup, bacon and eggs....YUMMMMMMMM!

Mix about 1/4 cup of Heavy Cream -- add Splenda and cinnamon again. Add Pork Rinds (LEAVE THEM WHOLE) and coats. I like to get them really soggy. Add oil to a frying pan and fry the rinds on each side. Believe me...it's delicious!

I've done that also. It is very yummy :yummy

:yes yup pork rinds are delicious. In fact just got done eating some bbq flavored ones. Pork rinds, atkins advantage granola bars and morning start trail mix bars are the only thing keeping me sane these days. I kinda feel guilty today because Saturday was my birthday and I had cheesecake :no
plus cereal. I guess I would have been better off eating a slice of birthday cake right? Sometimes I think I am in so much control but then I lose it. After all it was my birthday. Do you think I pushed myself out of ketosis?

I could never get past the smell of pork rinds! My DH loves them though, and I envy him, cause I miss the crunch factor in snacks! Think I'll try them again, with the recipes given above :nod

hey kelani, happy birthday! It's just a guess, but maybe you are having some trouble with cravings yet because you are eating some 'bad' carbs. Especially if you are just starting out again, the granola bars etc may be to much! If you can stand sausage and eggs for breakfast it's a good way to start the day. You'll know you're in ketosis if you get the 'sweet taste' in your mouth.
